What's your average day like?

I think we did something similiar to this a while ago but we've got some new nesties and figured it might be interesting to see what everyone does on the average day and also give us a bit more insight into each other's lives.

I'll go first so you can kind of get an idea.  Be as general or as detailed as you'd like. Smile

-I wake up between 6:15am-6:20am, get ready for work while I watch the morning news.  Around 6:50am I pack my lunch and then spend a few minutes on facebook.  I leave for work around 7:10am.  I arrive at work between 7:45am-7:50am, park and walk in, getting to me desk a few minutes before 8am.

-I work 8am-4:30pm with two 15 minute breaks and one 30 minute lunch.  Typically I read during my breaks or nest.  I eat breakfast at my desk during the week and depending on how crowded the breakroom is, sometimes my lunch too.  I try to read at least 50 pages a day of whatever book I am currently reading during my breaks.

-I leave work at 4:30pm and usually get home between 5:10pm-5:15pm.  I start dinner as soon as I get home (unless Jason decides to cook) and we usually eat by 6-6:15pm.  We then sit around talking, watching TV and/or getting on the internet after dinner.  Between 7pm-8pm one of us cleans up the dinner mess and I typically do a quick 'straighten up' of the living room/dining room/kitchen.  I also get a shower during this hour.

-I like to be in my pajamas and in my spot (aka a big comfy chair we have) by 8pm to watch TV for the rest of the night and just relax.  I typically go to bed anywhere between 10:30pm-11:30pm.

*I try to save errands I have to run for the weekend but sometimes I'll go grocery shopping during the week right after work which generally pushes everything back about an hour.

    - We get up around 6:45.  I take longer to get ready, so Chris takes the dog downstairs to feed her and let her outside while I get ready.

    - We leave for work around 7:30 and arrive around 8:00-8:10, depending on traffic. I stop at Tim Horton's on the way for coffee and a bagel.

    - I work 8:00-4:00 (ish).  I usually go for coffee one or two times, and run out to grab lunch and eat at my desk.

    - We leave downtown around 4:00-4:10 and arrive home around 5:00.  Chris takes the dog for a walk when we get home while I putter around the house (empty the dishwasher, get the cat and dog dinner ready, etc)

    - We usually eat around 6:00 and then spend a couple of hours cleaning, doing laundry, mowing the lawn, watering the plants outside, etc, etc.

    - After that we spend some time watching whatever shows are on TV that night.  I like to go upstairs to bed shortly after 10:00 and read for a while before turning out the lights.

  • I think we did do this before, but it's always fun to share!

I am off work now for the summer, so I do not have a typical day.  Here is a typical day during the school year:

*I get up at 5:50, get ready for work and leave by 6:30.  My school is an hour away so I arrive at 7:30

*Once at work, classes start at 8:10.  I teach six classes a day (next year it will be two sections each of physical science, physics, & astronomy/forensics).  I have one "free" period and a 1/2 hour lunch.  Since I am in my ninth year teaching I am pretty good at leaving work not too late usually around 3:15.

*I get home at about 4:30, I let the dogs out and work out for 30-45 minutes.  If it is nice I walk the dogs 2 or 3 miles.

*We have dinner around 6:30 or 7, clean up then I usually read, play on my computer, or watch TV.  I go to bed around 9 and read a little more before I sleep.

  • -we've been going to the gym in the mornings so the alarm goes off around 3:30am so we get up and get dresses and leave are house about 3:50ish to get there just after 4 when they open. but only if i go...other wise.

-6:30 ish or so after mike had gotten home from the gym and taken his shower i'll get up with him and have breakfast and coffee. he leaves for work by 7:00 am, so after a quick kiss and out the door I'll check my email and TN and then either do a load of laundry or the dishes or play some fallout. and take a morning nap (around 8:30-9:00)

-11am I make myself something for lunch and plop back down at the computer and see what i've missed on here (which hasn't been very busy...) and check the news and what not, when noon rolls in I get in the shower and start getting ready for work, I get to work about 5min before 1:00

-I work 1:00-7:00 and squeeze in a few minutes to sit down and take a load off, if it's slow i sit and and read and wait for people to come in.

    - when i leave work it's about 7:05 on a good day and no last minute people show up. which puts me at home about 7:10ish I'll the check the mail on the way up. once i'm home i'll hop in the shower for a quick wash (working with other peoples dirty laundry eww) and then in to my pj's by 7:30-7:35ish and start dinner. if mike hasn't already started it. and then about 8:15ish will claim are corners of the couch and watch something on netflix or a movie till bed time.

    - we go to 'bed' around 9:30-10ish sometimes will put a movie in and lay in there and watch till we fall asleep or i'll lay in bed and read.

  • I am also a teacher on summer vacation so I don't have a typical day right now...school year typical day

I get up around 6:30.  Facebook on my phone while my bathwater draws.  Get ready and leave between 7:15 and 7:30 (eat a breakfast sandwich in the car)

Get to work shortly before 8:00 and homeroom starts at 8:15.  I taught 6 classes up until this year, this year we've shortened our day by one period so I teach 5-2 POD/Econ, 2 Civics and 1 US History 1930-present. I am finished with the day at 3:45 and leave soon after.

Get home between 4:15 and 4:30 and either facebook/nest or start getting dinner ready depending on the day and what I am making.

DH gets home around 5:30 and we eat dinner soon after that.  He washes the dishes and we try to work on our home improvement projects for about an hour.  Then we relax for a while and then go for a bike ride if the weather is cooperative.  (We haven't done so well at the bike ride lately but I want to)  Around 10:00 we go to bed so DH can get up at 4:30

"I said what I meant and I meant what I said, an elephant's faithful 100%" Dr. Seuss, Horton Hatches The Egg. My Ovulation Chart Ttc buddies with LexiMS!
  • -I wake up at 7:00am, wash my face, brush teeth, put on makup, figure out hair. Then I go to closet figure out what I'm going to wear. I take Pyro (my doggy) out to the bathroom. I try to eat something but usually don't. I wait for H to arrive so I can kiss him goodbye at 7:40. The off to work

-I start work at 8:00, and take my half hour lunch at 12. Right now it is super slow so I am usually checking out nest and FB. It will definitely pick up when school starts again I leave at 4:30.

    - When I get home, H and I decide what we are having for dinner. Were crappy cooks so we usually go out to eat. (BAD!) We try to go on our walk which is a 4 mile walk around a college campus next to our house, and take Pyro with us. After our walk we take a bath, and usually watch a movie.

  • I wake up at either 5:30 am and run. If I do this then I go for a run around 5:45/6, get back around 6:30/6:45 and then hop in the shower. Then I dry my hair and get changed until around 7:15.

If I don't get up early to run or exercise I sleep in until 7am. I usually shower the night before so I just get up and get dressed and ready, and wake up DH a million times.

We're out the door by 7:45 and we have a super fast drive to work (we work in buildings practically next to each other so we carpool) and we're at work by 8.

Work 8-4:30, then DH picks me up and we're home by 4:45.

Then usually we'll both go for a run around 5:15, DH will shower and I'll work on dinner and then we'll eat around 6/6:15/6:30. Then we'll clean up, do dishes, I'll shower and DH plays xbox. I usually read or watch something for an hour or so after I shower.

By 8:30 DH and I usually try to be on the couch watching something together.

We try to be in bed by 9:45 so we can read for a while before falling asleep around 10:15/10:30.
