There is an 11 year old girl missing from Northern NH right now. The town is probably an hour from my home town and minutes from the Canadian Border. She was last seen Monday night at 9pm and when her parents went to wake her up in the morning she was gone. No signs she ran away or of a forced entry. It appears she was on the internet before she went missing.
Things like this are so scary. What if she "met" someone online and went to actually meet them. Or they came to her. She is literally on the border of VT and probably 5 minutes from Canada. She could truly be anywhere. They are even searching rivers and woods nearby.
I can't imagine what her family is going through. Makes you wonder what things will be like when our children are older. I feel like things have changed so much since even we were children. I mean we didn't even have the internet! I was always out on my bike with friends and cousins. Even had a paper route. Makes you realize it really can happen anywhere.
Re: Missing 11 year old
That is so so scary...and one of my biggest fears as a parent.
FF's neighbor's 12 y/o daughter "met" a guy through an app on her phone (how does one do that anyway??) and he started sending her pictures of his "stuff". I can only imagine what a creep that guy was IRL and how badly that could've ended up.
