I was just at Kroger on Michigan Ave in Canton with my kids. As I was getting them out of the car I heard a lady scream "HEY" aggressively. When I looked up she said "did they just steal my stuff", an employ nearby said "I think so, yea" (he was walking up toward her) She took off running to get the license plate. I saw the truck take off and saw it was at least 2 teens in the truck.
Reminds me to be more aware of my surroundings, no matter how safe I feel. I'll be more aware and not leave my cart behind my car and I'll definately be putting my kids in the car first (along with my purse).
Yikes! I just wanted to share this story so others could be reminded of the risk and keep safe.

Re: stolen groceries
Just goes to show how desperate people are these days. I went to visit a friend who's in a halfway house (long story) on Sunday, and when we pulled up, they told us that someone's car had just gotten stolen from right in front of the building just a few hours earlier. Nice. It's at West Grand Blvd & 96 though so sadly it's not surprising.
I also live in Canton, Mere - But I don't often go to those stores, I'm at Ford & Haggerty-ish.

She wasn't that old. She had a daughter with her who I would guess was in her mid20s?
