We are stopping in Destin for an overnight stay in a few days to break up our Disney trip.

Where is the best beach area in Destin and that includes showers?

We always stay at either the Courtyard Marriot or Residince Inn in SanDestin.  Very affordable, and less than a mile from the beach.  You get access to the Hilton beach area and the Hilton swimming pool.  You also get access to Baytown Warf, a community kind of like Market Street with great oudroor shops and really good restaurants.

My mom and sisters stayed at the Residence Inn once (my mom had points). They really liked it. There is a shuttle to the beach and a bunch of restaurants so if you guys are sick of driving, just take the shuttle. The beach there has chairs/umbrellas that you can reserve. You can get an end one so you have extra space (that's what they do).

We booked last minute(like a few days ago) so we had little to choose from. We will be staying at The Palms of Destin. Not on the beach but it looks really nice.
