Anyone else...

feel like your motivation to work out and eat better is a little more lax now that we are old marrieds? I have been trying to keep the gym up, but certain days I just want to lay around and eat some chocolate. I obviously went back to carbs, but I have been trying to not over do things (most of the time). I think some of it is also that I am on my feet at the restaurant for long shifts now and don't really feel like going to the gym before I know I have a long night ahead. I just bought a pair of Sketchers Shape-Ups to help keep my feet from throbbing after a long shift, but I am also curious to see if they really will help with all the other benefits they claim to have.

As I am typing this I am thinking about a lasagna, btw.

  • I should also mention that working in an upscale Italian restaurant which serves us a "family meal" every day that consists usually of a home made pasta is also a real treat to avoid!

  • I find I'm having trouble with the exact same thing.  It's driving me crazy. I need to get a work out partner and switch shoes. Have to. I just keep saying, oh well, I can start again tomorrow. But it's like damn it, I don't feel good about myself and I need to lose the weight that I gained back from the wedding/HM.

The shape ups will not give you the benefits that they claim to have.  DH is the health field and there is plenty of research for the false claims.  They will however help with you feet and maybe lower back pain from being on your feet so much.

  • I am the same way. I am still working our 4-5 times a week but my control over what I am eating is gone. I will ramp it back up in the fall I think though with looming vacations and bikinis! If I wasn't doing crossfit though I honestly don't know if I would be working out as much. It's great motivation.

  • I feel like I am eatting about the same as before.  Working out has laxed some but only b/c I am working more now than I was right before the wedding.  I enjoy spending my time at the gym, I take my book and then do the elliptical for 45 min a few days a week, run a few miles.  I am looking to do some more intense work outs here in the fall when it isn't so HOT!
  • All I do is eat eat eat and no exercise at all. That's being my routine since we got back. And I have to admit that is not because lack of time. I have all the time in the world it's just been so heat and I've been so lazy. I really need to do something about it before I lose track of it and go back to my before wedding planning weight :(
