I wanted to ask you how your Alaskan cruise was.  Where all did you go?  Any pictures you wanted to share?  I went to Alaska about a month before you went and visited my sister in Anchorage.  My husband was not able to go so now we are looking into Alaskan cruises so any tips you have regarding the different cruises would be awesome :o)

Re: rccola

  • it was phenomenal, I am still in the process of uploading pictures on Snapfish and Shutterfly and then I'll share the link.

We went on Royal Caribbean's Rhapsody of the Seas. In Juneau we did the Experience Mendenhall Glacier tour.  In Skagway we did the shortest of the White Pass and Yukon Route RR (if we do it again we'll do a longer one) and in Victoria we did the Craigdarrough castle tour.  We really enjoyed each of them, but the castle we felt should have been longer...One of the benefits of our ship was that since it is a smaller ship it could go much further back in Tracey Arm Fjord.  They joked that our captain was an original viking because he basically parallel parked our ship next to an iceburg.

The food was out of this world, we tried all kinds of new things we'd have probably never paid for in a restaurant.  For example I had escargot and actually enjoyed it.

If you have any questions I'd be more than happy to give you advice

  • Thank you!  I looked around the other day and I came across one that has a 3 night land stay in the Anchorage and Denali areas.  Do you know if hotel is included in the price?  By the way this is the cruise we are kind of looking at:

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you!

  • I would think if you have a land stay included with the cruise it would be, but we did the one with just sea...we have friends who just returned yesterday from a land/cruise one.
