New Iphone in September

I am ready for an upgrade on my phone this weekend and was going to get an Iphone. However I read a new one is coming out in September. I can't find much about the differences when I did a search. Any opinions on if I should wait or not?

Re: New Iphone in September

  • From what little I've read, there is a great deal of speculation that it's going to be more like an iPhone 4+ rather than an iPhone 5, and that most of the benefits of the upgrade will be in the OS rather than the hardware.  In other words, if you have an iPhone4 and upgrade via iTunes, you will see most of the benefits anyway.

I've also been reading speculation that the release could be delayed until October or November, meaning you could end up waiting longer than you think.

I'm no fanboy and don't follow Apple rumors obsessively, so I'll be interested to see what others who are more hardcore have heard.  I do think that trying to time an upgrade may be of questionable value if for no other reason than your phone is going to be outdated in 12-16 months regardless.

I think I have decided to just jump in and get the iPhone 4. I'm not usually one to need the latest and greatest, but I also don't want to wait months and months for it. Thanks for the info!!

  • So far I am loving it! (except when my DH erased all my contacts when he was trying to sync it)

  • I have the iPhone 4 and I am looking forward to getting the 5. I'm only going to get it if it's a complete change physically, such as the size of the phone. There's rumors that the screen will be a bit bigger as well. Then, a better camera also.

  • I just got the iPhone 4 from Verizon, in spite of people pointing out that a new one is coming out "soon." I love it! I had a BlackBerry, and I was SO over it. It was good for what it was, but for the amount of time I like to spend doing fun stuff on my phone, the iPhone is SO much better! I figure that I will ride out two years with the iPhone 4 (and I am confident it will last until then and even longer, which is more than I can say for my BB), and then I will upgrade to whatever comes next. The iPhone 4 is such a great phone, and even if you miss the 5, I don't think you can go wrong with the 4.

  • Honestly the only reason I'm holding out for the iphone5 is because I'm not due for an upgrade till October.

And like mentioned before, I don't think there's going to be a dramatic change in appearance . There's been SO much hype going on for this phone and rumors and speculation.

I'm glad to hear you like your iphone 4 though, I can't wait to ditch my BB for an iphone.
