Yesterday, when I left for work, I heard funny noises. Like a baseball card flapping in a bike wheel. I pulled into a parking lot, got out and looked all over and under and as far on top as i could on the xterra, and saw nothing. drive off, and again, sound started after a minute and got louder and louder.

i kept checking the rearview mirror - just a gut feeling. well, the poor guy behind me swerved when something flew off the top. i have no idea what it was, and am thankful no one was hurt Sad maybe some piece of garbage or recycling was floating thru the street, the air into the tree and dropped on the car?

on the way home, a light comes on before i even hit the highway. i pull over, pull out the manual and search for the icon. low tire pressure. i get out, look at the tires and they look ok and the car felt ok driving. i called dh who told me to just drive home and we'll deal with it.

got home to a house full of visitors and guests - dh looked at the car and said he'd deal later. i'd probably just drive it to our friend's shop in the a.m. for him to check.

the night got away from us. and this morning, when dh went to pull the garbage cans to the end of the driveway, he saw the crooked truck - one tire is totally flat.

our friend is sending a guy to change to the spare and take the old tire to patch or whatever and i can go later and get them swapped.

just waiting for him now.

figures - i took the day off because i have a ton of errands to run to prepare for ava's party tomorrow morning!
