How much to pay a housekeeper?

I have no idea. I've never had one before but one is coming this weekend for a quote. How do I know if it's reasonable? My house is 2000 sq ft and she is someone I got on referral (not part of a service). Any ideas?

My house is 2600 square feet and I pay 80 dollars. So definitely don't pay more than that as my house is bigger. Good luck

I would say that $80 is about right. It also depends on what she's doing. My friend does house cleaning and offers deep cleaning. Detailing the cabinets baseboards, cleaning inside the fridge. Those services ate usually extra. For regular cleaning I pay $80 bi-weekly for 3400 square feet but that's with my good buddy discount. I house my size should be around 100

Our house is around 1700 and the first time she came out it was 75 and every week after that she is 40-50, which seems reasonable.  We have also had someone else who was horrible, she would change her price depending on how she felt that day I think so we never used her again:)  So I would just ask what it is the first time out and subsequent visits.

Can you send me the info on your cleaner??  With our homestudy/inspection coming up I wouldn't mind the help with cleaning.
