....so this is going to be decently long....
About a week after the SIL fiasco Danny & I find out that she wants to leave her husband. Her plan was to pack everything up & be gone with the kids this past Wednesday; she planned to stay with MIL. Well, Wednesday comes and goes and she doesn't leave. We find out that she talked to her husband about it, told him she wasn't happy/didn't love him anymore and wants to leave. He cries and says he doesn't want her to go, but wants her to be happy. Asks her when/if she leaves, to let the kids stay with him so he's not completely alone. She tells him no and he cries more and ends the conversation. So who the hell knows what's going on with that.
Well...SIL isn't exactly the most tactful person and has discussed the problems in her marriage with her mother in front of her children. This has greatly upset both niece/nephew (8 & 10 respectively). Niece tells MIL how upset she is. MIL feels bad. In another non-related conversation, Niece tells MIL how she wishes she had a puppy (she wants to be a vet when she grows up) and how she misses the puppies they had before.
--puppy backstory-- first they had Koda (who is now my Buddy), but SIL made the kids choose between the dog and 2 rabbits that her husband's brother got the kids for Easter. So we took Buddy. Then SIL got a pekingese....her husband hit him with the car and he hurt his hip; SIL got mad that the dog kept using the bathroom in the house and gave him to her MIL. Then they got a little black mix puppy named Marley. Either SIL/BIL lets the dog out to use the bathroom (their yard isn't fenced) and the dog never comes back. This puppy had to be under 3 months old....
Soooooo... MIL decides it'll be a good idea to get her granddaughter a PUPPY!! However the puppy will live with MIL (since she is expecting her daughter/grandkids to come live with her soon) and MIL will take care of it. MIL/FIL have already rehomed a Boston Terrier because of his issues with marking/accidents. And the dog they have now is an adult female who uses puppy pads in the house as MIL isn't great about dog training.
MIL/FIL went to Ohio yesterday/today and I get a voicemail this morning saying I won't have to come let her dog out because they'll be home at 3pm...."and by the way, we got a beagle-bull!" I find out from Danny that they got this 11 week old male puppy.
The "breeder" tells them the dog shouldn't be more than 30 pounds....I just wish that my ILs would learn that they just aren't meant to be pet people....I don't have the resources to take in another dog.
Re: My ILs never cease to amaze me...
Wow...
cookies all around if you read all of that.
Ironically enough, I was eating a cookie as I read it.
Your IL's? Are crazy. That's all.
A.Men.
Uh-huh....
I saw a picture last night of Duke (MIL's new puppy) and he is a-freakin'-dorable....I have a feeling my bleeding heart may take him in if they go dumb and don't take care of him. Even if he ends up being 60 pounds...
I'll have pictures of him tomorrow. We're going to visit.
