Ok fellow Jerseyian!! I like you already just for that RN is the added bonus

So Im at valencia, I have A&P 1  + 2 left and Micro. Don't ask why I saved my science classes til the end and transfering from up north down here and had to take different classes because they love sucking money out of me.

So Im taking the TEAS test in 3 weeks the score you need is a 58.7% odd to me since up home you need an 80% to get into the program. Im also doing my AA degree starting this semster with my science classes while I wait to go into the program any advice?

Im going to do my BSN after I finish the program. Did you do special training for your department?

Re: *********mRsJenRN****

  • I'm not familiar with the TEAS test. What is that? Have you been accepted into the nursing program yet? If not, I know it's super competitive here and I would recommend getting as high of a GPA as you can. When I applied to HCC my 3.4 GPA wasn't good enough. Long story short, I ended up going to the U of Tampa and just got my BSN straight off the bat.

Oh yeah, I had to do a lot of special training for my dept. Just because I went to the ICU I had to take an 8 or 12 week class (can't remember how long it was now). On top of that, I had a ton of unit based training. We get VADs, heart and lung transplants, heart bypasses, lung surgeries. It's a crazy place. On Wednesday I was in there doing chest compressions because the patient coded and the surgeon had to come and open the patients chest at the bedside. In a true emergency, the patient room becomes the OR. It's a crazy place to work!
