Friday afternoon ramblings

What's going on?

I just realized that I never put away my space heater for the summer.  At this point should I just leave it out?  It probably already accumulated a ton of dust.  I am hoping it will just burn off the first time I use it.

After a severe case of dry eye last week I finally broke down and bought some contact lens rewetting drops and have been using them once a day.  The difference is amazing!  Who knew it was this easy.  My eyes are hardly even red anymore.  I have those weighted lenses to correct for astygmatism and one of my eyes was always red in one spot where the lens rubbed against it.  I will be really happy if drops once a day can get rid of that.

I can't believe next week is August.  Summer needs to slooooow dooooooown.

Re: Friday afternoon ramblings

  • I used to have that dry eye problem so I switched to Clear Care storage solutions and it really helped. I still have to use rewet drops most nights before taking them out though. I didn't last week and tore a good spot off my cornea off and had to wear glasses for 5 days!

I'm thinking about the weekend. DH got home early (whooo!) so we are going to get a head start. I have lots to prepare for dinner with friends tomorrow night (salad, sangria, and a blackberry trifle). The salad, I am going to try to mock Olive Garden's salad (since I love it!) so we'll see.

I cannot get over how expensive jarred artichokes are.

  • OMG Punky!  That sounds so painful.

  • Punky- I love Olive Garden salad too!

I am so happy the weekend is here.  I have a family packed weekend, and I sort of wish it was a weekend with nothing because I have a ton to do....but it is all good fun family stuff.

  • It's Saturday at 6am and DS is on the floor trying to figure out how to take apart one of his toys. Some nights he will sleep through the night, 10 hours straight without a peep. Other times, he is up twice, and then up for the day at some ungodly hour (like last night/today).

DH was traveling out of the country all week and just got home yesterday evening, so I feel bad making him get up because he must be exhausted. I might just let DS watch PBS so I can zone out on the couch. He loves TV, but I only let him watch one show a day. It's just enough so I can take care of the pets and such in the morning.

Poor you!  Yay for DH being home though!
