So anxious!!! (ETA: work related, I didn't get it)

I'm waiting for a call back from the school I interviewed at 2 weeks ago. We leave for our cruise on Tues but I have another interview scheduled for Mon. So I called the school I already interviewed at because I need to know today!! I don't want to go on the cruise w/o a job lined up for the fall and I definitely don't want to interview the day before we leave. Please think good thoughts for me!!! THANKS

ETA: I didn't get the job at the place I interviewed at a couple of weeks ago. So I will be doing the other interview on Mon. Which means I won't have anything lined up before we leave. I'm going to need something to keep me from stressing while I'm on the trip. Any suggestions?

No word yet, so I'm guessing he won't call today. Now I hope he does call tomorrow because I really don't want to have to do this other interview. It's for a less desirable location and it's right before we leave. I'm going to email him, too. He's never communicated with me that way though.

Yes, because of that. And I don't really want that job, I want the other one.

Oh and we don't get back until mid August. Schools start mid-late August. So the chances of me getting a job at that point are lower (although schools do some hiring right before school starts) and it would be much more hectic for me to interview and then prepare right before school starts. When you don't know what you'll be teaching or where you, can't really do any planning. And there is always a lot of planning to do before you start any year but esp a year at a new school (potentially teaching something you never have before). Does that make more sense now why it's stressful? It would definitely cause me to stress during our trip, which would not be fun.

And I should mention that he said he would let me know before the end of the month. That would be today because Mon is the 1st. So I was expecting to hear by now.

I'm sorry H. I command you not to stress on your trip and enjoy the vacation. My Sil (she wasn't yet at the time) interviewed for a new job right before she came to SF for our wedding and got the call while she was there that she got the job. So FX for you for the Monday interview.

And enjoy the cruise! And I'll buy you a drink when you get here.

Aw thanks, A! Yeah, I'm trying to stay positive. I just don't want to be scrambling trying to put together curriculum for a course I've never taught for a job I was hired for the day before school starts.

Yeah, I try to keep that in mind. It's just stressful to think of that prospect. Of course, it would better than not getting any job.

Thanks! Yeah, there isn't except I could get contacted about jobs while on the trip. I'll probably hear back from the Mon interview while we're there. Some of the time we won't have cell or internet service so that makes me nervous. At least I can check my email on DH's phone when we do. I already told everyone who's going that they'll have to help me to keep me calm!
