Book: Confessions of a Military Wife
Has anyone read it? H and I were at Borders tonight (so sad it's closing) checking out the audio books since we're going to need some serious entertainment for our 3,000 mile drive coming up...and we saw this book.
Anyone read it? Thoughts/reviews?

Re: Book: Confessions of a Military Wife
Ugh, I know what you mean. That kind of stuff is def not my cup of tea, and it drives me NUTS when people try to give these as gifts/ tell me I should read them/ etc.
OP, I am also so bummed that Borders is closing. I read an article that said it was because it tried to get too big, including internationally, and flopped because it was too big for its britches. Sounds kinda like Starbucks before they had to close a ton of locations, but they seem to be doing okay now. I guess there are a lot more factors involved in the case of Borders..
I was just curious if anyone read it. The back sounded like it was suppose to be funny, definitely not a self help or 'how to deal' with military life thing. And the author is also a stand up comedian.I also read it was like Chelsea Handler too.
I guess Borders went out and asked if anyone would invest in it to help keep it going on no one would step up so now they have to close. I've always been more partial to Borders than Barnes and Noble for whatever reason, so I'm really disappointed.
Oh I wasn't trying to be mean or anything! I may go look it up too, honestly, if it's Chelsea Handler- style, like you mention. Thanks for sharing:)
Agreed. Its not bad.
This is true. I worked at Border's and was laid off at Christmas. I'm surprised it took this long for them to make the concrete announcement since they've been closing stores for over 2 years now.
Yeah. It's such a bummer. And the employees said they don't even know when they're closing. Since they are now owned by whoever is liquidating them, they could show up one and day and have the doors locked and that's that.
Yep. Our date changed a few times. We were going to close early because we were running out of stuff, but our liquidator didn't want us to lose more paychecks so thankfully we didn't have to deal with it.
That's cool, at least they had you guys in mind a little bit.
Well this is weird.
