Trade Deadline
Anyone surprised about trades/disappointed with trades?
Seems the whole town of Denver is up in arms over Ubaldo, but he is not the same pitcher he was last year. If I were Cleveland I'd be more upset with what they gave up to get him.
Sort of surprised with Hunter Pence to Philly - but it seems they have an Astros connection there in Philly.
Re: Trade Deadline
I'm surprised that the Red Sox gave up anything to get Eric Bedard from Seattle. He's been a good pitcher in the past, but he's been way to injured to expect anything long-term for him.
Also, I'm probably the only person who's not surprised Heath Bell didn't get traded. His current contract only runs through the end of this season, then he'll be a free agent.
we don't need him long term, it's just out of desperation now that Clay Buchholz is most likely done for the season. he's not the best option out there, but he'll do as a #5 guy.
