has any tried developing their own wordpress theme?

it's killing me and i'd love some help if it's out there!!

 

but to keep it relevant....any fav books on your kindle/nook lately?

If you don't want to hand code your html but still want something a little different, there are a couple of different sites that have a variety of free templates.

 

Or, use a normal theme, and if you do know some HTML/CSS, you'll be able to change it alot. For blog stuff, I pull a bunch of different code for changing the blogger (I use blogger not wordpress which is why I am not a huge help) standards and then design from there.

 

I dunno if that helps at all. I'm not on wordpress, so I can't suggest too many awesome sites. If you switch to blogger, this site is my fave : http://www.bloggerbuster.com/

they have templates, but I like it because they have tutuorials on how to do things like hide the blogger navigation bar and what not.

I do not know CSS very well, but since I know basic stuff and pretty advanced HTML, I can tell what's going on in the code. I generally will take a theme with a layout that I like and make my own graphics for it, then go in and change the colors and whatnot in the code.
