I am getting married for the first time, and to a man in the Navy. I am looking for any advise experienced Military wives are willing to give.... He has been in 10 years already and plans to stay for at least 20 so this lifestyle won't be going away anytime soon, not that I mind it. He is getting stationed in San Diego, so I am hoping to meet new friends in that area! I work as a radiologic technologist, we have no children or family in the area. Any San Diego ladies have any good restaurant suggestions, or activities we can do together as a couple would be greatly appreciated!!

    I'm Army and have never been to San Diego, so all I can offer is a welcome to the board!  I'm sure some other peeps will have better info.

    I'm J and my H is AD AF. We are in MT now, but we lived in central CA for a short time. I personally loved the area we were in. I never made it down to San Diego, but my recommendation it to explore your new home. Whatever you enjoy, find new places to do the same things. I love hiking and taking my dogs out waking. I also picked up a love of surfing, snowboarding, and running on the beach there. As long as you fond something positive about where ever you are, you'll find something you enjoy. Welcome to the board!

    10000 Comments Seventh Anniversary 5 Love Its Combo Breaker

    I'm in North County, but both my sisters live down in SD. 

    http://www.bigkitchencafe.com/ is one of my favorite places for breakfast, it's hilarious. There's a lot of places that people like in Gaslamp for dinner, and it's a fun place to meander. 

    I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.

    Hi there!

    I never lived in SD, we were stationed in AZ but it was close enough to drive over on the weekends every now and then. I would also recommend the gas lamp district its so much fun.

    Hi, Im also in North County but we head down to SD sometimes.. We really like the area and there is lots to do.. I dont have any specific recommendations but ditto on the GasLamp area for dinner.  I do know there is a military wives group that I found on meetup.com that meets in SD once a month or so.  I think you will like it here- We do :)  Im from Florida originally and it is very beautiful here. GL!
