XP: refurbished macs?

Hi there! Has anyone had any experience with buying/using refurbished MacBook Pros? My trusty, almost 5 year old MacBook has died and I need to replace it ASAP. The refurbished MacBook pros look like a really good deal, and they still come with the same warranty as a brand new machine and I can still buy AppleCare. They have exactly what I want, and it's almost $300 cheaper than the brand new one. I just wanted to see if there are any downsides I might be overlooking.

We have a refurb Macbook Pro.  It was a great price and was in perfect condition.  We've had it for 6 years and it's never given us any problems.  We actually just replaced it last weekend, but only because it's slowed way down with age and with larger programs/OS demands.

I got my refurbished MBP about 2 years ago and it's fine. No problems at all. I actually just had to upgrade the memory in it but that didn't cost much. I recommend the refurbished to anyone who doesnt want to pay full price on a brand new Mac. They're just as good and you're saving money. I say go for it!

I got a refurbed Macbook Pro in March. I was a little bit nervous about it because I had never bought a refurbished product from Apple before, but so far, so good! Cosmetically it wasn't the slightest bit different from a brand new product.
