Re: IN Get Fit Challenge

  • I'm down 8 pounds, so only 24 pounds to go!  Still working out regularly (aiming for 6 days a week of 30+ minutes of some sort of activity), and we've really stepped up the healthy eating.  Hopefully I'll start toning up more...I hate being flabby.

QOTD:  New jeans!  I think my biggest "reward" will be pulling out all the "too small" clothes in my spare closet so that I can start wearing them again.  It'll be like a whole new wardrobe!

  • I joined a gym today and it has a daycare center within it, so this will help me tremendously. I can't use the LO as an excuse not to go. The only thing I worry about is he doesn't currently attend daycare and doesn't have a lot of interaction with other kids. He's 9 months old and is experiencing some separation anxiety right now. I can't leave the room without him losing it.

I will reward myself with new clothes and a swimsuit.

Great job Onesly! Your old wardrobe can be even more exciting than new because very few things top the feeling of fitting into your skinny clothes. Smile

I have lost the 7 of the 8 pounds needed to reach my end of August goal, but I'm very unmotivated at the moment. I've been getting these awful headaches lately due to lack of sleep and stress at work and I'm just trying to hang in there for the countdown.

Next week is my last week at my job and then I'm hoping to just maintain until my trip to the States. Then afterward I'll revisit the goals and get back to a good routine.

  • Good job Onesly and Ashley!

I'm doing well - I think I'm officially a size 6, so I met my goal.  I'd still like to lose another 5 pounds just to be safe and not worried about slipping up in the last few weeks and then looking like a white sausage.

Last week I worked out 6 times and I think I overdid it.  I was also walking the dog twice a day and doing all the cooking and household chores so I think it was too much activity and not enough calories.  I lost like 2 pounds in less than a week.  So I'm eating more this week and going to exercise only 5 days - and at a less intense level.  I don't want to do anything over the top or unsustainable.

QOTW:  I don't really have a system set up.  I just like seeing what I am capable of and how good I can look if I really try.

  • Hi all!

Ugh, I'm struggling. A lot. I just can't quite manage to get back into it! I'm going for a run tonight and went on Sunday but I've lost a lot of my ability with various injuries (and laziness) over the last couple months. I haven't gained any weight, but I haven't lost any either.

I did get rid of 5 giant bags of clothing this week though! Decided I should seriously get rid of the clothing that is really too big on me. Had a huge clearout which is fun. I'm wearing UK12's / 14s now which feels great (started at 20s/22) but I might stay here for a while, it feels good to me and I'm just not focussed at all right now!

I have recently purchased some new clothing, that's always my reward!

  • Can you add me?  I'd like to lose 20lbs, get back into running and lifting.

I'm doing the C25K and 30DS (but only 2x a week) plus trying to go to the gym 2x a week.  I lost a bunch of weight but have gained a bunch of it back.  I realize that it's from not exercising enough (again) and overeating.  Bad habits bite you in the butt!

I like pineapples...they make life just so much more interesting.
  • QOTD: When I get closer to my goal (hopefully in Nov), then I will start saving up my cash so I can get a big infusion of new clothing to fit my newly toned and strong body.

  • Jetur, congrats on meeting your goal! You're getting so close. Best of luck with maintaining until the wedding.

Pitt, yay for getting rid of old clothes! It really took me a very long time to do this because I was always so nervous I'd need them again. Super proud of your accomplishments! It may seem like you're in a rut with it now, but just remember how incredibly far you've come.

  • May I join? I really need to get myself under control in Spain and my goal is to lose the 20lbs that I've put on since coming here. I'm back home in the States and doing Weight Watchers, trying to resist the urge to eat bagels and peanut butter cups.

QOTD: The reward would be a serious Spanish shopping trip! New clothes, woohoo!

  • Day 1 of the 30DS. I'm going to be so sore tomorrow! I must admit that it's an excellent workout, though I was skeptical at first.

It's been ages since I've worked out. I stocked the fridge and cupboards with a lot of low fat, nutrient dense foods for myself. We've also got a bunch of fruit and veggies, so I can start doing more vegetarian meals.

I think to get to my goal weight by March is a bit ambitious, but I'm going to reevaluate in December.

QOTD: I have a few plans. Buy a whole new wardrobe, go on vacation and wear a bikini (stretchmarks be damned), and schedule my breast reduction surgery.

    ** Edited to add QOTD**

  • I'm doing ok, lost a dress size purely from the gym, which is good. I'm getting back on the "diet" wagon, so hopefully the pounds will start dropping faster from now on.

QOTD: complete re-haul of my wardrobe: getting rid of fat clothes, fitting back in skinny old clothes I haven't worn in years, buying new stuff, you name it!

Also probably putting it all back on by getting pregnant Tongue Tied

  • Morning ladies! I have been doing awesome at yoga, going to classes and doing it at home. Unfortunately I still haven't started running again, it's so hot in MI, I'll wait until I get back to London.

QOTW: Once I get back to running a 5K I'll buy myself new running shorts.
