How often do you go through clothes and purge?
I went through my closet twice in the last 6 months with the bathroom reno, but now that it's August I'm realizing that I still have some dresses that just aren't me anymore and I haven't worn them all summer yet.
Plus I've put myself on a work clothes only shopping freeze since I really don't need another t-shirt when I'm in the office more than anything. Well except for certain events, like I need shoes for Jerry's reunion.
Re: Closet Purging?
I'm a HUGE purger. It's cheaper than a therapist.
I basically purge every season. If I didn't wear it, I get rid of it. I can't stand clutter and I know I'll never again be a size 6, so I only keep two sizes in my closet. I, too, am on a spending freeze because of these stupid fertility treatments, but I have to buy some shoes this week for L's reunion this weekend and some shoes for a wedding I'm in.
Maybe once or twice a year when I switch my closets out for Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer. I surprisingly have a hard time getting rid of things I've never worn or worn once because I feel like I'll want to wear it "one day" and won't have it. But I hate clutter. I'm just used to having a ton of clothes so its weird to see nothing in my closet.
I'm with you though, I don't spend much time not at work sadly so I shouldn't have a lot of casual clothes.

I've been pretty good lately about getting rid of something every time a new item comes in. Not always easy, but it keeps things controllable.
I also took all my clothes hanging up and turned the hangers backwards at the beginning of the year. As I wear things, I turn the hanger around to normal. At the end of the year anything with a backwards hanger is getting donated. If I haven't worn it in a year, I'm probably not going to wear it ever again.
