Newbie post: How much food for a 1year olds party?
We are having DS's party at 3:30 in the afternoon at Gymboree and obviously will have cake but I'm not sure if I should also provide a sandwich tray? A fruit Tray? How much for 10 kids and 20 adults?

Re: Newbie post: How much food for a 1year olds party?
How old are the kids? How long is the party?
I wouldn't bother with sandwich trays. I would have some snacks besides cake though. It doesn't have to be big, but I would have some kid friendly snacks and adult worthy snacks. Tailor the fruit tray with some cut up grapes, sliced bananas, apple slices, maybe some peaches. You could add some dip to that too. A simple veg tray with carrots, celery, and dip. Throw in some salty snacks- pretzels, godlfish, seasoned oyster crackers- and maybe some cubed cheese and crackers.
Given the time and location I'm sure most people won't expect much.
There are about 10 kids and about 20-25 adults. The party is from 3:30 to 5:30.
I'm thinking a fruit tray, vegetable tray and a sandwich tray.
Because with small children, 5 p.m. is usually meal/dinner time. I would hate to see a smallish fruit and veggie tray that no one touches because it doesn't seem like enough to feed the group.
Different strokes I guess. Nobody I know with kids eats at 5 including us. Even if it's not enough for a meal it's enough to tide people over.
It's part of my nature to want to have more than not enough. I've been to those parties where there isn't enough (6 mozzarella sticks for 7 people) and it gets awkward quickly.
