How to organize utility closet?

We have a closet in our back hall that we store the vacuum along with small household items that we need regularly. These include batteries, light bulbs, small tools ( measuring tape, screwdriver etc) and vacuum attachments/ bags. Right now I have them in small rubbermaid like containers with lids. They are stacked in a shelf. I liked having the lids so that I could stack them and use less space, but it us a pain to get stuff in and out. Any other ideas of how to organize stuff like this in a closet? I don't want to spend a lot of organization items. Thanks.

  • hooks on the door or wall or one of those canvas over the door shoe organizers with 20 or 24 pockets.  They also have ones with big pockets, like file-folder sized, 3 or 4 pockets total, which might be big enough for your vacuum bags.
