Hi ladies!
So my mother-in-law asked me if I could help her friend with a task. I said of course since Im home with nothing to do lol. Anyway, my MIL's friend is throwing a very casual bridal shower for her daughter. Her daughter is getting married, very low key and very few people. The shower is only going to have 10-15 people. So she is wondering what to do at this casual shower. Any ideas? Thanks ladies
Re: Casual bridal shower
lunch and open gifts - like any other shower.
i am not a fan of games - i don't care if there are 10 or 100 people there.
i like a shower to just be enjoyable with the company and good food.
if they insist on games, suggest an advice bowl - everyone writes their marriage advice and it goes on paper and into a big bowl. it could be read, or it could just be saved in a album for the bride for later.
my sister assigned adjectives on my shower invites to guide gifts, if the attendee felt like playing along. For example, one was "playful" - one woman gave me a kite along with a traditional gift (gorgeous colors and it used to hang in our guest room, pre-kids when we had a guest room) and another who got "playful" bought me lingerie. Guests could guess the adjective, or even make the bride guess.
This. My bridal shower only had 12 people but my friend (even if my mother probably didn't) knew I was not into games... so we just ate and opened gifts and talked...
My friend had a shower over the weekend and she isn't really a game type either but her sister did a little quiz for all the guests to answer of about 10 questions and whoever of the guests (like top 4 people) answered the most correctly got prizes - a little bottle of wine and a lotto ticket. It was cute and didn't involve having to do anything stupid or putting the bride on the spot.
Questions included - where did they meet, where are they going to live after the wedding, when is their wedding, what is their favorite thing to do together, favorite movie, favorite desert, where did they get engaged, where are they going on their honeymoon etc. etc..
