So IMHO, although I'm glad JP won, I think Ashley just wanted to get engaged. To anyone.
I don't know how many times she said "I'm ready to get engaged and walk away with a husband." or "I'm ready to be engaged." and during that proposal she looked so bored and looked like "okay, shut up and get down on one knee and give me the bling!"
But, that's just my opinion......
I also think she had NO idea what to do and was looking TOO much to her family to make her decision for her when they first got together with her.
I think nothing about the way they were at the After The Final Rose looked genuine, I think if anything it's genuine for JP. But it's so new. They're in the honeymoon stage. They don't even know each other. And I think Ashley is in love with getting married. To anyone.

I also am glad JP won and I genuinely think this is very real for him even if it is new and for that I hope it works. I do agree that she was relying too heavily on her family to tell her what to do. I think she does have a strong connection (physically) with JP and they seem cute together but for their sake I hope there is more there.
Bens reaction to the denial was a breath of fresh air. Dont get me wrong I feel horrible that it got him upset but showing a little anger in that situation seems normal. I think he really felt she was going to accept and he was ready to walk away with Ashley and when they didnt happen and he was blindsided a little anger only seems natural. Too many times the man that walks away seems very nonchalant about it like eh it didnt work out better luck next time which if you are ready to propose should not be the reaction.
I love JP and hope it works for him. But I really don't see it working.
Well you all know that I've been a JP fan from the start so I'm glad she picked him. I really think he loves her and is very real. She annoys me too and I'm glad that this season is over. I hope for them that it works, but I really don't know this time. Guess we'll all have to wait and see.
I did think her new hair color was pretty.
Did anyone watch Jimmy Kimmel? I haven't had a chance too. Although, I did see a youtube clip from a morning show interview. They said something about getting married late next fall.
I didn't watch at all this season but I just want to say the Bachelorette can suck it.
I sat down last week to watch the Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss season finale and my DVR recorded 30 minutes of "fantasy suite" dates and Ashley's annoying ass, then the first 30 minutes of the final of EM:WL. They didn't re-play it, so now I am going to have to watch it online to see what the hell happened to this overweight woman from Fort Worth.
I watched Brad's whole second run as the Bachelor, so I knew going into it Ashley's season wasn't for me.

I'm more tired of seeing stuff about this on FB than I am of people talking about the heat.
Bwahahahaha. I thought the same thing when I read they were having Men Tell All on Sunday and then the finale on Monday so it wouldn't be dragged out another week.
Leslie, it was actually the presidential address that interupted bachelorette and made it run long so that is why you didnt get to see the finale. Blame the president and speaker of the house.

Ugh, I am just glad it's over. I'm in the minority--I wasn't a JP fan. Not because of him personally (although I did not find him at all attractive), but because I didn't think they matched up that well, he's much older than her, etc. I thought in the end she matched up better with Ben and I thought he was much more intelligent, successful, and cuter than JP. Plus he was her age. I just thought it was a better match.
I think it got edited out but I read that on ATFR she even admitted she thought she matched up better with Ben and had more in common with him, but that she "followed her heart" when picking JP. In other words, there was more physical attraction , which we all know is the best indicator for picking a mate, right?
I hope Ben finds someone. He just seems like a really nice guy.

Not that I know Ashley, but I also felt she was more relaxed and goofy and whatnot around Ben. And I agree with the age thing. Her sister had concerns about that as well.
You know JP once said "we are a perfect match" but neither of them could ever pinpoint HOW they're a perfect match for each other.
I was shocked when she couldn't even answer the question her sister asked about him makin her laugh. I don't know about y'all, but that was HUGE for me when I was dating a guy. He had to make me laugh. My H makes me laugh when I want to cry. That's so important. And Ashley couldn't even answer the question.
ITA with the making her laugh thing. I just thought the whole scene with JP and her family seemed forced and with Ben it seemed natural. (My Ben argued that of course it did because she was making an effort to SEEM relaxed to please her sister.) Her sister was no dummy. I am very close to my sister also and I can totally see her being able to look at the situation objectively and seeing what I couldn't.
I also remember the outtakes of Ashley and Ben on the boat where they were talking about kissing each other's feet. It just seemed like they were naturally having a good time--of course, they were probably also drunk, so there's that...
