Since TravelingTurtle thinks I am famous
....I want to know if you guys have ever been on TV?
When I was in high school, my parents took me to a taping of the Emeril Live Cooking Show in NYC. We were told that we had to smile and clap and act like we were really happy to be there. So basically I looked like a complete idiot on TV. I am happy to report that only one classmate saw that particular episode.
Re: Since TravelingTurtle thinks I am famous
I've been on the local news a couple of times and was on Chinese news a bit. I was also on a Chinese television programme dressed like a duck.
Not a particularly high point in my life.
Chronically hilarious - you'll split your stitches!
I wrote a book! Bucket list CHECK!

I would love this backstory!
I was in the audience for a taping of the Ananda Lewis show once in college. Remember her? Yeah, neither do most people.
Now jumping domestically.
Well that was a crazy couple of years.
TeleCantabria (TVE, since dear sweet Revilluca says we don't need an autonomous channel) came to my school to shoot a segment on bilingual education in the region. We're unique since we're one of two schools to have both tracks in French and English.
They interviewed me in Spanish and shot me giving a completely staged class in which my (high school senior!!!) students decided the camera was scary and that they didn't want to speak English.
It's kind of funny though. They put it on whenever it's a slow news day. I've had a number of random people stop me where I work and say "I saw you on TV!" I guess FH watched it in the bar with his coworkers on their lunch break.
Which movies? Did you get to talk to the stars? Any good gossip?
Yeah! Which movies!! That's very cool!
The duck story I'm saving for the blog. It's in an old email I sent to my family about it when it happened - I'll dig it out one day. If it helps, I didn't know I'd be on TV until I got there, and was manhandled into a duck costume by 3 stage assistants pretending not to understand English. Bastards.

No gossip, don't even know the name of most of the movies, most were foreign films. The one that we saw ourselves in was The First New Heart.
My MIL has been in tons of them and there have been some big names in those ones like Colin Farell, Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman.
How do you find out about these gigs?
I was on an MTV spring break show once. It was awesome. My best friend and I met up at the beach where MTV was doing their spring break special. One night I saw a group of MTV vjs and got really excited. She lived in her dorms at school and they didn't allow them MTV access so she didn't know who they were. She decided to start smiling at anyone/everyone.
Next day, we're heading to the taping of a show early (we were late the day before so got up really early to go). A guy with an MTV badge walks by and she has the biggest smile. He asks us if we want to be on the show, we say yes. We go back stage and beg for make-up (everyone else on the show was picked the day before so they were dressed for TV, we were dressed for the beach... I was wearing an old T-shirt I borrowed from someone in gym class three years prior). They separated us because we looked similar (to them). We did a rehearsal and the host came out, my friend made a snide comment to her (thinking it was a stand-in, not the actual host). The host was Daisy Fuentes.
Anyway, all of us were staged in the audience. And I had to answer a question. They provided me with the answer, but the celebrity guest picked my answer as his favorite. So, I got to be the crazy girl shown as they cut to commercial. (I'm not really a crazy girl, so this was hard.) Afterwards, the stage people asked if we wanted to go back stage again and I just wanted to for the fun of it.
My friend's contribution to the show got cut.
