Mobile nesties
Hey! I will be in Mobile on Saturday for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. DH and DS are coming with me. We should be done around lunch and are wanting to find some stuff to do before heading back to Auburn Sat night. Any recs on restaurants, places to shop and other fun things to do would be appreciated. I am especially interested in shopping for clothes for DS...

You should drive across the bay to Fairhope and go downtown. There are a lot of little specialty shops, neat cafes to eat at (Mary Ann's deli, Panini Petes, etc.) and you all could go down by the bay and enjoy a nice walk on the pier. There is also a shopping center in Malbis that is a smaller scale of the Summit which is neat (and about 10 min away from Fairhope).

Well, although I'm just across the bay, I don't really know anything about Mobile. But, I agree w/Brooke's recommendation of Fairhope. Or, if you don't mind a bit more of a driven (probably about 45 min - 1 hr from Mobile), you could head down toward the beach, dip your toes in the cold water, and hit the outlets in Foley - they have tons of kids clothes places - Carters, Children's Place, Baby Gap, Gymboree!
