National Harbor

Hi Ladies,

I have my best friend's bachelorette party this coming weekend at the National Harbor. We booked rooms, have a reservation at what seems like a nice hotel and have a list of bars. Only problem is that none of us have ever been there and don't know what the atmosphere or crowd is like there. They have a loungey type place but unfortunately its only open to guests of the Gaylord and we're staying at the Westin. I see that they have a dueling piano bar, an irish pub and some other bar type places but am starting to have my doubts that it may not be bachelorette worthy. Has anyone been there before, gone out to the bars there or have any insight? I'm starting to think maybe we rent a limo and take it to DC to go out instead. Thoughts or advice?

 Thanks so much!

  • The dueling piano bar is fun and would be great for a bachelorette party, but it is hard to get a seat (especially for a group) without a reservation.  And to get a reservation, you have to pay the cover charge in advance.  I'm not sure about now, but we tried to go for my DH's birthday back in late January/early February and when I called 2 weeks out they were already booked for a Saturday night.  So if you think you want to go there - definitely call ASAP.

Cadillac Ranch has a mechanical bull.  With a bachelorette party, I think that would be fun, but I wouldn't stay there all night.

  • I went to a bachelorette party there last September, and that was exactly what we did - pre-gamed in the hotel room, dinner, then had a table at Bobby McKeys (we did have a reservation in advance), then went to Cadillac Ranch.  It was one of the more fun bachelorettes I've been to - I liked that it was more casual, too.
