Has anyone ever purchased a refurbished ipod? I'm looking into an ipod shuffle and came across some refurb options on Amazon. I would save a little over $20.00. Any thoughts on whether or not it would be worth it?
Re: Refurbished Ipods?
no experience with refurbished ipods, but just my 2 cents: i am not a fan of the shuffle, b/c there is no screen so you cannot scroll through and select your song, meaning you either have to have all your songs on "shuffle (so they play out of order" or keep clicking next until you find the song you are looking for.
IMHO i would spend the extra $ and get a nano....
I don't think I'd get a refurbished one either. I've had bad luck with ipods, so I'd want to make sure I have the warranty and everything. Apple is really good about replacing faulty batteries and the whole device if necessary.
I have a nano that I use at work, but it drives me CRAZY to wear it while I'm running. I use DH's shuffle. For me, the size depends on what you will be using it for the most.
My shuffle was my first ipod. I got it for working out . . . it certainly is tiny!! Of course, a few weeks after I bought mine they came out with colors!!!
I have since upgraded to a nano. (the square squatty version)
I like both for different reason. I wanted to scroll and find a song and I couldn't do that on the shuffle. Then again, I got the shuffle for working out -- so I didn't think too much about that.
Honestly, I wouldn't buy a refurb ipod -- I just think buying new is the way to go. I know plenty of people who love refurbs and those that have had horrible luck with refurbs. I just wouldn't risk it. Just my two cents.
