Can you bring a baby to Asia? (gal on Travel isn't sure)
Just saw this on travel. I understand asking for advice about the long flight...but why ask about vaccinations and then say "obviously I'll ask my pedi"? I dunno, seems kinda silly to ask when you are flat out saying the advice will be irrelevant. Couldn't resist a sarcastic comment about how there are actually lots of babies in Asia.

OMG we can find a picture of those Chinese pants and tell her to get them before she goes.

Me too.
ETA: Marista I love your comment.
Here's the image search results, anyone with the cojones necessary to reply that gets a virtual high-five from me.
Love the bit about flying in business class. Was that necessary?

I thought that was kind of obnoxious too. Like oh by the way, in addition to being terrified of "Going Abroad," I'm rich!

It's a supermarket where all the immigrant kids poop freely in the aisles.
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
They sure are!
Yeah, and it used to be my bastion of sanity after the stupidity posted on the honeymoon board. *Sigh*
Wedding stuff.
I want a direct quote from her of who said it was all "fun and games." Yeesh.

Yeah...I'd want to wait til the kids were older before doing a trip like that though so that a) they'd be more independent and b) they'd actually remember the trip and be aware of what's going on!

I agree with you Snippy, but I understand what Marista's saying. Having fun with two toddlers underfoot on an international trip could prove to be difficult. And to top it off the kids aren't even going to remember any of it. I think it's great to travel with kids, but taking them along when they are so young, won't remember, and will make things much more difficult isn't something I'm planning on doing very often.
At that age (could be wrong as my babies aren't born yet and I don't know just how hard it is to leave them) I think I'd leave the kids with the gradparents if possible and make the trip an adult trip. Traveling is really great, but best if you're old enough to remember some of the experiences. But maybe I've just been listening to my parents too much! They said they were glad they took us traveling around the US as kids (camping and such) and that they held off on bigger trips until we were old enough to appreciate them.
I do definitely agree 100% on the idea that people's lives don't have to end just because they have kids. We are definitely planning on doing lots of traveling with the kiddos.
I know I shouldn't scare her off, but I was feeling snarky. And I doubt this chick would ever consider taking her precious to China anyway. I wonder if she'd even go herself. Based on the Bali suggestion, I think she's looking for cheap tropical beach more than drastically different culture. But that could just be me being judgy.
