What to do in Omaha?

Hey there! I live in Austin, Texas but will be visiting Omaha later this month. DH's Grandparents live in Iowa, so we will use the Omaha airport.

We will likely want a break from family stuff so we thought we might check out your city and I don't know ANYTHING about it!!

If you only had a day or so, what would you suggest seeing/doing?

TIA!

Re: What to do in Omaha?

  • head to the zoo, its great! Take a walk downtown and check out the flooding, shops, etc. Eat at the Upstream on the patio if it's nice!

Shop at Shadow Lake- lots of fun shops in an outdoor mall.

  • Ditto on the zoo and Old Market.  Also, there are lots of museums (Joslyn Art, Children's museum if you have kids).  Take in a baseball game at TD Ameritrade park or the new Werner park.
  • Thanks! Where is the airport in conjunction of "things to do"?

  • The airport is closest to the Old Market area, zoo, baseball field etc!
