I have wedding pictures back...now what?

I got my wedding pictures back about a month ago.  I whittled nearly 1000 pictures down to around 200 that I really enjoy looking at.  The first order of business was to get my favorite printed on stretched canvas to hang above out bed (this is on order), and to make a book at shutterfly.com to use as a coffee table book.  (I actually have 6 ordered because I think they will make great mom/grandma gifts)

Now, I am at a loss as to what to do with my lovely (and expensive) pictures!  I know I can slap them in a frame and hang them on the wall...and I do intend to do this....but I dont want to wall paper my walls with wedding pictures.

I am considering investing in a digital picture frame.  But havent gotten myself to bite the bullet and do that yet.

Does anyone here have any creative ideas for wedding pictures?  Im a pretty crafty person...but I guess Im pretty stumped here....I want to keep them classy.  I have lots of black and whites and the wedding was pretty formal (DH was in his marine dress blues and the ceremony was in a very formal catholic cathedral style church)

Any ideas would be appreciated :D

  • I ended up doing a shutterfly book and a scrapbook.  They have two very different feels and I really enjoyed making both of them.

  • I had a boat load of 4X6 prints made and put them in a photo album. Nothing fancy or crafty, but they're in one place and I can enjoy them whenever I want. We have a few wedding photos around the house. We made albums on Snapfish and gave them to our moms the first Christmas we were married.

  • You can make:

    coasters

    magnets

jewelry - make the pics tiny first!

tablecloth - mod podge a shower curtain or vinyl and "extras"

    desk mat

Still reflecting...will post more if I come up with more!  Good Luck!  Oh - and PIP anything crafty you end up doing!

  • I made a gift for my parents using a wedding picture (3 copies of same one) and one of those layered picture frames (can't find a picture online, but I got it at a craft store...it's thicker than usual picture frames and has multiple frames of glass on the inside). In the picture holder in the back, I put the entire 5x7 picture (them in the park with a tree). In the picture holder in front of that, I put a cut version of the picture (cut out the tree and them and got rid of the background). In the front picture holder, I just put in the cut out of them.

I hope this makes sense - I did this a while ago and can't remember where I saw the idea. Cutting the pictures and layering them kind of made a 3-d effect.

  • Thanks for the great ideas ladies!  Ive never really done a scrap book before (though I probably will start to get into it when I have kids) so maybe Ill take my first crack at it.

The 3D picture is a good idea also!

I actually was thinking about coasters the other day.  It would be cool if I could get some thirsty stone ones made.  The table cloth is another interesting idea! hmmmm

Keep the good ideas comming...When I make something I will be sure to PIP!
