"Giant" birthday party for 8 year old
My son is turning 8 soon and I?m planning him a ?giant? birthday party. I?m making giant invitations and we?ll have a giant cupcake cake. The only activities I have planned are having the kids make giant shoes for them to wear and smashing the pi?ata with giant hands which will be oven mitts.
My son thinks this is such a cool idea, but I can?t think of any activities to go along with the GIANT theme. Any ideas for food, games, or activities? Thanks!
Re: "Giant" birthday party for 8 year old
There is book called Dooley the Giant where a young giant who hasn't quite grown into his height goes around roaring at people. Could you have the kids pretend to be giants and give prizes for the biggest roar.
could you do a variant on pin the tail on the donkey and get the ring on the giant's finger. Cut up a couple of plastic cups, put a giant drawing of a hand on poster board. Use a school pushpin to pin the hand to the wall and then try to put the ring on the finger.
As for food, all I can think of is beans Jack and the Beanstalk keeps coming to mind.
I've seen some plain white giant mugs at craft stores like Micheal's and Hobby Lobby. You could buy one of those for each of the kids to have them decorate with.
There are also a lot of giant candy oriented things you could use:
Hershey's syrup bottles

Gummy worms

Boxes of Nerds

*This has a bunch of little boxes inside it, so at the end of the party you could give them to all the guests.
You could make a sheet of rice krispy treats and say that it's one giant rice krispy treat. I've also seen molds for giant donuts. They also have those really big jaw breakers in most candy stores.
