This was posted so long ago, I'm not sure you'll see it, buuuuut what do you think about the rumors about A&M coming to the SEC?
Excited...but nervous? LOL. I do worry how it will affect our loooooooong rivalry with Texas, but I think after everyone gets over being butthurt, it could actually strengthen it. It would be beyond ridiculous to still not play each other every year like Texas has threatened(it brings in good $$ for everyone, is always nationally televised, and it'd be good to put all those angry feelings out on a fb field, right?). I'll also admit that it would feel good to basically throw up the middle finger and make a choice counter to the expected.
I would love, love, love to renew an old SWC rivalry (Arky), and kick off some new ones (LSU and A&M seem to naturally hate each other). From a non-football standpoint, we bring a lot to the table (women's basketball, track and field, golf) and have some programs gaining momentum in the last few years (men's basketball, baseball). Football-wise, I would expect it to take some time before we can really compete on the level (although I'm willing to be pleasantly surprised), but I'd rather lose to the best than beat the middle, KWIM? I do know we will be competitive though...it's been a good 15 years, but we've been in the fray before.
I think the death of the Big 12 is coming regardless, so I want to make a move before we don't have such great choices. On a personal note, by Uncle went to Auburn, is a huge fan (his daughter's middle name IS Auburn), so some family rivalry would be fun.
Is that more than you wanted to know?? Can you tell I've been dying to talk about it?

all I want to say is I agree with basically everything you say. and I am so ready to move to the SEC. This weekend has been terribly stressful. I think there is a lot of misinformation in the media right now and there is a lot left to be seen.
Super stressful, right? Hopefully by Wednesday we'll be posting about our locked down move to the SEC. WHOOP!!

can't wait for a move to the SEC! my husband and I have basically been hitting F5 on our computers while reading texags, waiting for more information. ditto that there is a LOT of misinformation in the media, on purpose. I'm hoping for an announcement by the end of this week.
