Another house rant

I thought I was doing the smart thing and started shopping around for termite treatment and pest control service since the termite bond that came with our house is expiring this month, and we've been seeing lots of the same bug inside the house. It was a good thing I did, but now I have to get a state inspector to come check us out because one of the companies that came to give us a quote found two different places where there's evidence of termite activity!

One is in the garage, and he admitted it's just a place he knows to look that often gets missed. The other is in our guest bedroom, and there are so many issues (moisture damage on the outside siding that was noticed in the inspection/"repaired" before closing, fire ants present that are normally a sign, SO many things outside that should've been noted on the inspection like rotting wood from an old tree in our mulch), he said he's 95% sure there's live activity in there! OMG!

I also found out that Terminix hasn't treated the house since 2002 (again, not noted on the WDO report), when it was due in 2007 at the latest! But of course, we've already received three renewal notices in the four months we've lived here.

I'm so discouraged with all this! There have been so many smaller issues with this house that either should've been disclosed or that we missed because the seller's furniture was here during inspections, and we had such a bad experience with using a brand new realtor! I feel like there's a laundry list of problems, and each new one keeps going to the top of the priority list, pushing everything else back further!

At the very least, I spoke with the state inspector this morning, and he's planning on coming out Monday, and it *should* be a relatively easy process, but seriously? WTF!
