Everyone is doing well. Dan made a friend up the street the second we got here which is good but the friend leaves this weekend to go back to his mom's so Dan's been riding around seeing if other kids are around and not having much luck. He's looking forward to school now. lol. He also started full swing with football so we're there 5 nights a week for the rest of the month. The park that he plays at is absolutely gorgeous so Logan and I job/walk for like 45 minutes and then finish watching Dan's practice.
Logan is doing great. He turns one next week so he just getting so big. We're still working on crawling but he just finally pulled himself up.
Ryan just got into the swing of things himself with football. He's doing well and getting psyched to get the season started.
It was an extremely rocky month. When we first got to the house, I cried for like a week straight and loss all appetite. The house was a complete mess and not how I envision a rental place should be (they barely cleaned anything up). So, we contacted our realtor and the landlord and was going back and forth. In the meantime, we scrubbed and cleaned the house from top to bottom. Then the landlord gave us an out if we wanted because he didn't want to fix things. Well, more crying ensued and a two week hunt for another place to live started. FL is sort of like Philly where you have good areas and bad areas and you have to be in the right school district. Well, there was absolutely nothing and the market here started going up so that didn't help. So, we had to stay where we were. We talked to the landlord about fixing like 4 or 5 major things that had to be done and we could live without the rest. Thankfully, that worked out. I can finally give Logan a bath (the tub was rotted...he just fixed that), I caulked every single room in the house because bugs and ants were crawling from every crack in the floors, and just some more awesome things along the way. It's a shame because it's an older home that just went by the wayside. I'm trying to spruce it up a little to make it "ours" and pretty. We have plenty of room here too which is nice.
I am finally unpacking and getting settled. We also finally just got internet and cable (it's amazing how much you miss it!). Oh and the cable thing is just hilarious. Apparently, there is one cable hookup for every four houses so you have to know which neighbor has the hookup and time the cable guy for when you can go to your neighbors. Yeah, so we recently found out our lovely neighbors don't want people in their yard for a reason. Real nice. Oh, and the only reason we got back there was that they put their dog on the front lawn to keep us from knocking so I asked the cable guy to hop the fence to hook us up. It was comedy.
Every store I go to, totally feel like I am in another country for use. People are very rude and don't move. They drive like aholes and the bugs are bad. Although, I've been promised that come November, it's beautiful.
It's honestly not that bad though. It is really beautiful here and I think it's been cooler here than it has been in Philly so the heat doesn't bother me. I'm adjusting to be a stay at home mom and will be looking for playgroups and whatnot when Dan goes back to school.
It's been a ride so far, that's for sure. Something to look back on as our first move and laugh on. Major lessons have been learned and you get smarter with each thing that comes your way.
