How to fix grass burnt by fertalizer
It appears that DH burnt the grass with over fertilizing it. Since then, he has watered the daylights out of it, to no avail. How to fix this?

I usually lurk, and I'm coming in late, but DH is a golf course superintendent, and here's his advice:
It depends on the severity of the burn. Watering will actually make it worse, because you're releasing even more fertilizer (I'm assuming he used a controlled release, since that's mostly what's available in stores these days). You can sand the turf (spread sand over it), which will help aerate the soil profile and allow everything to move through faster. You can also apply activated charcoal. It's a bit pricey, but will be cheaper than digging up the dead turf, prepping the bed again, and seeding or sodding. Besides, it's so late in the summer reseeding is out of the question, and sod is super expensive.
Tell him to STOP WATERING, if he doesn't do anything else.
