after watching the doc Fat Sick and Nearly dead on Netflix, H and I were inspired to get healthier. Picked it up at BB&B and did my first go today. The juice was way tastier than expected. I hardly doubt i could put up with a cleanse, but if i can get a couple glasses of homemade green machine into my diet, i think im going to feel way better.

sara, juicing is a good way to get A LOT of nutrients in your body in a an easier consumable way. rather than eating say 10 bunches of kale, you get one big glass.
Im not drinking juices to replace meals, just to 2-3 glasses of all those micronutrients to help my body feel and act better. Long term goal would be to get off some of my meds, as those dr's in the documentary said was possible. ( i think i would have to go gungho to do that)
My goal is to have at least two glasses of juice a day for 30 days.
since i've been trying to eat healthier recently...what i've been doing is over the weekend, i'd buy a head of romaine, leafy green, iceberg, and then anything else i feel like for the week... approx sun afternoon, i chop up all the lettuce. i also have a carrot shredder that makes carrots into the fancy little pieces in salads. i bag it up in about 6 or 7 gallon sized ziplocks (because all that lettuce comes out to a LOT of salad, i'm making poor H eat salads with me most days). we're good for the week with about 30 mins of preparation.
if i'm feeling adventurous, i'll shred some cooked chicken and put it in sandwich bags, and drop the sandwich bag into the gallon bag.
i bring the gallon bag with a jar of dressing to work. the bag lasts about 2.5 days. occasionally, i have croutons, or sunflower seeds at my desk also, that i can sprinkle on, but not always.i leave a plate, and a fork at work for convenience.
good luck! i hope this works out for you, if you're trying to eat more salad/veggies.

Best sound ever: baby's heartbeat! (Heard @ 10w1d)
Just be careful. V8 has a shitton of sodium in it. I think a can is almost your entire day's worth of sodium.
i hate v8 and i've been sooo bad about my diet lately.
juicing sounds great but i feel like i'd 'waste' all of the fruit and veggies that were juiced..
