Finally a few minutes to breathe (a little long)!

Hi, Ladies! The past couple of weeks at work have been so hectic I've been limited to a few "fly by" nestie posts :-)

A bit of an update on what's been going on since the VP that I supported left the firm:

Ok - so that was emotional enough, dealing with that - since as I mentioned in my last post about that, we'd also become friends. He and I have communicated since then, and he is being courted by another firm that is more in line with his area of expertise and he seems very happy. More than anything, he is loving having all of this time to spend with his wife and 1 year old son (did I mention that he'd been traveling on average 3 weeks a month? Yikes!).

So, a few days after he'd left, this b*tch who works in the office next to me (she's been the subject of a couple of "dear co-workers" in the past - an overall office troublemaker), decides to go behind my back and try to create trouble for me with my boss - which totally backfired on her ass:

She tried to say that I had been using more vacation time than what is allotted. So she goes to the head of our HR dept and launches a complaint. Turns out the old b*tch didn't know that I carried over a full week of vacation from last year, and so was well within my allotted time off. Our HR head ripped her a new one and scolded her for being unprofessional and meddling in another employee's personnel affairs. I told her that what she did was underhanded and that I expected better of her. Especially when I was one of only two people on our team who actually spoke to her. Now I know why no one else does, and I am now counted in among that group.

In the meantime, while I was defending off that random attack, I was assigned to support a Managing Director at our firm, who is super nice and one of the top guys at the firm. This has been a good news/bad news deal - good, because it represents a "step up" of sorts, and it was not expected that I'd be assigned to work with him after only a year here at the firm; also a little bit bad news, because he is far more active and busier than the VP I used to support and I, ahem, actually spend much more time working with less downtime during the days (read: less time to 'nest'!).

So, that's the skinny on my past two crazy weeks in a nutshell! I only say "Hi and Bye" to the backstabber, and as my exec is traveling for the next two weeks, my days should be a bit less nutty (read: more time to 'nest'!)...hahaha!!!

  • Gotta love the office crazy who can't mind their own business! Wow! I'm glad that she got in trouble for sticking her big old nose where it didn't belong!

Good luck in your new work capacity but see if you can tell that new VP that your nesties miss you ;) I'm sure he won't mind lol.

  • I've been wondering what's up.  Thanks for the update.  Hopefully karma comes to get that crazy coworker!

I totally agree with this! Good luck with your new VP and I'm sure he'll be thrilled with you! That's wonderful that your old VP has some better opportunities for his family situation and expertise! Some things will work themselves out like that.

This! It's nice to see that the crazies are not always rewarded, hopefully she settles down or leaves :P

Kudos to you for handling all of this and for the step up!

  • Yikes!

Well I'm glad things are calming down for you.  And good riddense to the nosey bittch!!!  You know what they say - people who meddle in others' lives don't have a life of their own!!!

I'm happy to be back a little more lately, too.  :)  I try to come on in the mornings before work and after dinner on the nights Amanda isn't with us.  I'm slowly but surely catching up on stuff with everybody!!

I agree - it so good to see the nice people (you & everyone else) win.
