Book Club - Book Thief - Updated with Poll
Re: Book Club - Book Thief - Updated with Poll
I voted for the first option. I am only attending the book club portion of the day and would like to discuss at Starbucks while drinking yummy coffee.
Leslie- Sorry you have tired head. Book Club should be fun and not a beat down.
This makes me really sad.
I most likely will not be able to attend either, unfortunately. I did vote for discussion at restaurant, because I'd rather eat my calories than drink them.
Don't weigh to heavily on my vote though, for sure. If I can make it I will come to whatever you guys decide.
You should come for at least book club. Have a yummy scone or muffin and talk with us.
For girls who aren't coming - any book suggestions for next month? I will get some info about the books and present them to the girls at the meeting so we can take them into consideration.
Namasteak - I wrote yours down and will get the Amazon descriptions for them to put them into the running.
Leslie - I will if I can, for sure.
Sorry.
It's my own fault, too. I haven't even started the book. Usually I am more on top of things, but life has just been a little hectic lately.
I have not finished the book and at the rate I am going this week, I probably won't but my plan is to come anyways although I may be a bit late.
Because I will completely forget this by Saturday, the next book I plan on reading is Then Came You but other books that interest me are: Mrs. Kimble (or Baker Towers) and Swim Back to Me.
It's NBD. There's always next month. Don't worry!
I do feel like we should probably pick an easier read next month since school will be starting for teachers, girls with kids and college students. For some reason this time of year tends to get busy for everyone so an easier read might help with that too.
I literally just finished this. It is super light and easy to read.
Actually, whoever's book suggestion is chosen for the next book club becomes the host for the next book club.
I won't be able to attend next month due to wedding festivities ... BUT I just wanted to add for anyone who is looking for a good read that ... "The Art of Racing in the Rain" was seriously one of, if not the best book I have ever read. I loved every minute of it and I laughed and cried through basically the whole thing. I've never had a book affect me like that.
Definitely for dog lovers though.
I totally told my DH that I busted out his "books about dogs" story at the last book club. He was a little mortified but then laughed pretty hard about it.
Sara - I think it is that whoever's book is chosen is the next host. I thought it might be good to have a list of suggestions ready too though in case no one has anything at the meeting. Sorry! I like back up plans!
I liked giving suggestions and seeing other suggestions now so that I could look them up and whatnot. I usually have no idea what any of you suggest at the meeting and just go with what everyone else wants. I will admit, some of my suggestions were based on what I have already bought and what I can get from the library so I don't have to buy them
It doesn't bother me, either way. Apparently, I was the only one that was confused on how it worked, but now I know so I will throw some suggestions out there as well.
Non Fiction: The Girls from Ames
Fiction: Love Walked In
Both of those sound good Sara.
