wow. slow board!

Apparently everyone is busy. Or just has nothing to say on this fine Monday.

Anyone do anything interesting this weekend?

I made my first trip to the Uptown Art Fair yesterday. Didn't buy anything at the fair, but I ended up buying a piece on etsy today from a vendor I saw at the fair. I saw a piece yesterday that I liked, but it was $400, so I went online to see if it was offered in a smaller size for less money. I found a similar piece on sale that I love even more than the one at the fair - and 75% off so it was only $100. Score!

I really liked the Uptown fair, much more variety than some other local art fairs. I went to the Eagan one and it seemed like it was all cheap beaded jewelry. Unfortunately, the friend I was with yesterday was looking for cheap beaded jewelry and was disappointed with the Uptown fair.

  • We live right next to the Powderhorn Art Fair which is always the same weekend as Uptown Art Fair and I like that one even better than Uptown. Uptown is crazy expensive, because the booth fees are so high for the artists there. Powderhorn has a great mix of different types of artists....they had a lot of cool jewelry, clothes, art, and stuff for the kids too, which was great. And there's usually free shuttles between the two so next year check it out!

  • We got busy this weekends so I was sad as I wanted to check out one of the art fairs... oh well maybe next year. It has been very slow around here

A friend of H's was in town this weekend, so a bunch of us got together on Sat night. We also went out on the St. Croix on a friend's boat on Sun. It was a really nice day.

I'd love to see what you bought if your willing to share a link :-)

I went to the junk days in Burnsville with some girlfriends and got some great stuff.  Really wanted to make it to the Uptown Art Fair but just didn't have time...

I'm a sucker for art with maps. It's the geography nerd in me (that was my major in college).

Very cool.  So awesome you were able to find such a better deal directly through the artist on Etsy.  good idea!
