WWYD?

So, DH and I are going to paint our spare room in our place. We're still in our rental house, but our landlord is totally cool with us painitng, and will even pay for the paint!

We didn't paint this one room when we moved in and it bugs the crap out of me! It's an awful sage-green colour that just doesn't suit the size of the room it's only about a 7'x9' room). It's super dark. Right now it's my craft room and has the only closet in the entire house. However, we're hoping that we might be able to think about trying for a baby in the winter, so in a year or so, we could have a little one while still in this house. If that should happen, my craft things would just get put elsewhere and it would become the baby's room.

So, here's the question. We're going to paint it this month. Should we paint it a colour that we'd love as a baby's room colour so we don't have to paint it in a year? If I were just painting it for me, I'd do it in a soft violet; but if I did it for a baby's room I'd do a light turquoise to keep it gender neutral. I love both colours. WWYD?

Re: WWYD?

  • I say do the light turquoise! No sense painting again even if it is a couple years from now. DH and I just painte our spare bedroom and kept that in mind also. We did a light gray and I love it! :)

  • I hate painting with a passion so I'd say paint it a gender-neural color that you love and leave it :-)

  • haha, I'm the opposite, I love painting, so I wouldn't worry at all about painting it for a nursery just yet.

  • I don't like to paint and it gives me headaches so I'd go gender neutral.

  • When we painted our spare bedroom (which was supposed to be my craft room) we kept in mind a gender neutral color for future baby. It has worked out great Smile and eliminated the need to paint while I was pregnant.

  • I'd do the turquoise, it is beautiful for now and for baby!
