Attaching snaps to a garment

HI Everyone-

I am having the hardest time attaching snaps to the little dresses I make for my daughter.  I have tried every little gadget to attach them, but nothing seems to be consistently working.  How do you attach snaps (the snap on type, not the sew on) to garments?

I use Dritz snap pliers.  You need to make sure you are going through at least 2 layers of fabric (if it is really thin, add some interfacing).  Line up the snaps and slowly close the piers making sure the snaps line up correctly before you squeeze.  Speed is your enemy with snaps.
