Re: Tuesday Randoms
Today is my wedding anniversary.
We're going out for a simple dinner and just hanging out. I think we'll open a bottle of wine after dinner at home so I can have a small glass, too.
Congrats!
Happy Anniversary!
I hit 15 pounds lost milestone today. Unfortunately I have 85 to go :-(
Had an eye opening experience yesterday. Decided I needed to go buy a couple pieces of clothes, as the 2 pair of gauchos I have been living in for the past 3 months have seen better days. Since, the scale said most of the baby weight is gone, I figured I would only need to go up a size or two. Wrong. More like 6 sizes!!
I bought what is suppose to be a pair of shorts, but on me they are more like long capris.
I've been expecting a raise to appear on my last two paychecks, and both times was very disappointed.
I'm starting to turn into a disgruntled employee. Not liking my job, upset about the pay, etc. I had a kick ass review and I was hoping for a raise, stat.
So I worked up the nerve to ask my boss about it today. And he said "I planned on talking to you about it this week.
"
The ";)" means I'm getting one, right?
Congrats Wop. Dh & I were just talking about what to get for out Anniversary next months.
Wendy - Awesome Job not the loss. I need to get back into it again.
D&M - Sucky time waiting for a raise to show up. I know my whole dept was excited to get our raises last month.
I claims my last weeks of Unemployment today. 99 weeks are now up and we will have to readjust to life on my PT job but DH sounds like he will be keeping busy. The hardest part is getting the invoices sent out so we can be paid. Lucky for us nearly all out clients pay ASAP.
Congrats on the anniversary Wop!
Wendy - Don't diminish your accomplishment by staring at how far you have to go - 15 pounds is AWESOME. I would set some short term goals (if you haven't already) and find ways to reward yourself so you can focus on the smaller steps so you don't feel so intimidated by the larger goal. A journey of 1,000 miles begins w/one small step, eh?
LOFT has a fairly good petites selection. :-)
Good morning!
Congrats on the anniversary, weight loss, and raise!
Mira, how did the visit with your family go over the weekend? Were they judgey?
D&M I took the kids for a woods walk yesterday, and we left after a minute. Henry's eye now looks a lot like T's.
Yay for your milestones, everyone!
Thanks for the encouragement. I DO need to figure out some intermediate goals.
Wendy, I'm just getting (re)started. 15 is way ahead of my 1.
Keep it up!
Is the no M or F thing for coverage? I can't imagine any other reason. Sorry that puts you in a bad spot.
Huge boo! The mosquitoes are bad this year. Yuck.
I don't see how it could be...I don't work in the main office, and the person who does sit there works on Fridays.
Also, because it's currently a little thorn in my side, I'll mention that we have eight employees - some part time, some full time - and I am currently the only one who has to work all five days.
That is really annoying.
I'm jealous though. I'd love a 4 day work week, with any day of the week off.
Yes, I should clarify that I am glad to have a job where a four-day work week is an option. However...I'm the activities coordinator...and most of my activities take place T-W-Th. It makes no sense for me to have to take one of THOSE days off, rather than a day when not as much goes on.
Yeah, that is irritating. It almost seems like someone doesn't want you to have a three day weekend.
That's what I'm reading too. Are they concerned about rocking the boat?
At my old job, they went to 4 day work weeks (kind of, most of us worked 2 Saturdays a month anyhow), but only those with the highest seniority could pick Mon or Fri for their day off. And those of us working in home offices couldn't have that option because who would cover?! Rediculous.
So, London... http://www.npr.org/2011/08/09/139233715/britain-burns-riots-spread-through-uk-cities
I was doing some reading trying to learn what the cause of the riots is. Seems like people are just angry now for many reasons.
I find this really funny! What was the most interesting thing you spotted?
Nothing too exciting I am afraid....one person had their old Dish Network dish in the bin...which I found a little odd. But my life remains boring...I guess living vicariously through recycle bins is not the way to get some excitement in my life.
