Ten Things Tuesday
1. We picked up our new car yesterday and we're super happy with it!!
2. It is a great feeling to have a 2nd car now and I don't think I'll ever take having another car for granted again. It truly is a luxury!
3. I have a lot of work to do in Emma/Lily's room before she arrives.
4. I found some super comfortable pajamas from Kohls by Vera Wang and I'm not gonna lie, I wear them all day sometimes. At home, of course.
5. My Mom and Dad have a cabinet in their garage that they were going to get rid of, and I think it'll work perfectly as a linen cabinet in my bathroom after a good coat of paint.
6. All these posts/blogs about refinishing furniture have me all inspired to tackle the project!
7. The photographer that shot our wedding passed away recently, and I was contacted by the studio (which is now going out of business) to see if we wanted to purchase the CD of all our pictures.
8. I'm going to purchase it because it wasn't even something we had the option of getting almost 6 years ago, as crazy as that sounds in 2011.
9. I say "two thousand eleven". I don't like "twenty eleven" because it sounds too futuristic for me.
10. At one of the car dealerships we looked at last week, Emma spit on her hand and then wiped it all over the dealership window.

LOL, that made me choke on the pretzel I was eating at my desk! Emma sounds like she is sooo much fun!!!
1. Im extremely bored at work
2. My MIL and I finished painting the China Cabinet we bought off Craig's List this weekend and I am so happy with how it turned out!
3. I have no idea what to make for dinner tonight
4. Im looking forward to going garage saling this weekend.
5. I have three payments left on my car and then Im done!
6. I wish I had taken a vacation this week, because work is so slow with the boss gone.
7. Ive gotten on the treadmill three days in a row before coming into work. Hopefully I can continue with this.
8. I woke up last night from a terrifying dream and seconds later while I was still completely disoriented there was a flash of lightning and a horrible crack of thunder. I almost peed myself.
9. This might be TMI, but I have an unsatisfiable need for sex right now. I think DH is getting tired and annoyed with me :-)
10. Im ready for lunch.
Haha... she is seriously a riot. I know everyone probably says that about their own kid, but she cracks us up all the time. She just says and does the silliest things. The particular day she did that, I had gone to the dealership after hours with my Mom and Emma to look at a car. Fortunately, nobody was inside watching her, but I'm sure they probably saw all these little handprints smeared all over the window the next morning and thought "what in the world?"
Her newest phrase that she says, just completely out of the blue.. is "Daddy is a king. Mommy is a queen. And Lily and me are princesses." It's beyond adorable.
Yesterday while we were driving somewhere, she says to me "Mom, be quiet! I'm reading my mail" as she sat in the back seat flipping through a catalog that came. I wasn't even talking. lol
1. Half of our house's power is out again (This was intermittantly happening about a month or two ago).
2. DTE had sent out at least 3 guys so far but it appears that no one actually did what they were supposed to do.
3. DH is actually pretty good with electrical stuff, so when one of the guys came out he was able to convince him to open up the meter box. When the guy relunctantly complied, there were a bunch of burn marks inside from a connection that had clearly gone bad. Basically, the meter needed to be replaced. Guy said that someone else would have to come out and do it.
4. Apparently, the next guy either didn't do what he was supposed to (fix or replace the meter) or maybe just didn't show up at all.
5. DH determined last night that the only reason we haven't been loosing power for the last couple months (since the initial incident) is because the a/c has been back-feeding the bad line and since its been so hot, the a/c has been on constantly for weeks. Once we turn off the a/c the power goes out.
6. This is a huge fire hazard and I'm so pissed that DTE is not getting off their a$$es to fix this.
7. Thank goodness the refrigerator is on the good line. If I'd lost food because of their extreme incompetence, I'd be even more pissed.
8. As bad as our stuff is, yesterday was even worse for my yoga teacher. Apparently the foreclosure next to her house was vandalized by the previous owners and they screwed with the electrical lines which then spread to her house and overloaded her stove, dishwasher, and several other appliances which will have to be replaced.
9. All evening yesterday I just kept telling DH, at least our stove/fridge/dishwasher, etc didn't blow up.
10. We have two daycare tours this week after work, but neither of them can be sure they'll actually have openings for January.
1. It is super quiet at work today since my boss isn't here and I am getting tons done!
2. I am going to some off site training for work tomorrow and Thursday and I am super excited about it!
3. I am so excited about the prospect of the wetaher cooling down and the humidity breaking!
4. DH and I started work on the house last week/this past weekend and it is going to take A LOT longer than we originally anticipated to get what we want to done in there. We've only been working on the place a week and I'm already exhausted.
5. In relation to #4, our weekend wasn't really a weekend because we spent so much of it working at the house. I am beyond exhausted and feel guilty becasue I really don't want to go to the house tongiht to continue priming the walls. I want to go home after work, go for my run, and then sit in the apaprtment and do nothing tonight.
6. DH are running a race together this weekend and I could not be more excited for it!
7. I am really looking forward to our vacation to Marquette for 6 days over the Labor Day holiday.
8. I have always wanted to go to Poland and DH told me this weekend that I can seriously investigate what it would cost and we can seriously consider/talk about going next fall. I am super pumped becasue I really thought that trip was just a pipe dream.
9. Ritzy, your daughter absolutely cracks me up every time you post something about what she says or does. She is adorable.
10. I want to start another crochet project, but I think DH will kill me if I buy more yarn for something. But I've seen a lot of cool fall projects and I really want to make one (or a few) of them.
1. We officially sold my car last night!!!!
2. DH is emotional about his cars, he asked me if I would be okay after selling the only car I have ever driven (I got it on my 16th birthday!!! It was a pretty old car) I thought it was kind of funny...
3. FIL and MIL took us out to dinner last night and I thought I was going to throw up after I ate (It was Joe's Crab Shack, I like fish, but that is not my favorite place to eat...)
4. I just got back from "lunch", which ended up just being frozen yogurt and a diet soda...
5. I bought a jimmy johns sandwich that I may eat later, but if not, I'll save it for dinner!
6. DH is out of town again tonight.... I'm debating not going grocery shopping and just eating cereal for dinner...
7. I am looking for a treadmill on Craigslist. Haven't been able to find anything that fits my needs for a decent price... :-(
8. I think that if I had a treadmill, that I would be much more motivated to run.
9. I am so close to being done with a quilt that I started earlier this summer. I just need to put the last two sides of binding on and I'm all done!
10. I think my next quilt might be a present for my brother and future SIL for their wedding.... I would have to finish it in less than a month.... I think I could do that....
Serendipity3, South Beach, Miami, FL 2012
1. I am going to try to do this, but I think it's going to be hard coming up with 10 things today.
2. I feel bad, DH wants to go out to dinner tonight, but I went out to lunch today and am stuffed!
3. Plus, I have a luncheon tomorrow and I feel like all I've been doing lately is eat.
4. I offered to pick up takeout though, I think I'll just have a bowl of cereal :-)
5. There are a few things I want to order online, but if I can't find free shipping codes, I don't think I'll order them. I hate paying for shipping!
6. I am excited for my cousins birthday party this week, we are going bowling!
7. I really want to hire my aunt to clean my house, but DH won't go for it :-(
8. My friend thinks I should just hire her and have her come when he's working..LOL!
9. I could never do that though, I'd feel way too guilty.
10. Yay, I did it!
1. The guy who was supposed to come and finish our installation for the kitchen this morning didn't show. I am still pissed because I stayed home from work this morning. The company felt awful and he ended up coming this afternoon (when DH was home), but still...
2. The the granite company came to install our countertops and they had measured the sink wrong and it was about 4" too big for the cabinet. They had to recut our countertops and they will be back at 5pm to install.
3. The granite company has been a pain to deal with so I don't feel at all guilty that they wasted that granite and that they are working late. Karma is a b!tch.
4. I am going to order our carpet after work tonight - YAY!
5. We are staying with our ILs next week Sun-Thurs while our hardwoods get refinished. I have a feeling it will be a long week...
6. I've been waiting for the baby to turn head down for about 2 weeks now so it would stop kicking my bladder. It did and now it's kicking my ribs. I can't decide which is more uncomfortable.
7. I spent a lot of money on Etsy for artwork for the nursery. I will not tell DH how much I spent.
8. Last night we bought switch plate covers at The Tile Shop and spent a ridiculous amount of money -- more than the cost of the tile for the entire backsplash.
9. Immediately after, we went to Lowe's and found something similar for 1/3 of the cost. DH wanted to go right back and return the first set, but I was embarrassed since not even an hour had passed. Now I have to make a trip back tonight to return them.
10. I just went to the little store thing in our building and bought an ice cream. I had finished it before I even made it back to my desk and I don't feel remotely guilty.
1. My kids are driving me crazy today. My 4 yr old keeps walking around saying he's bored and my 6 month old won't stop screaming at the top of his lungs.
2. I'm ready for school to start so I'll get rid of at least one of them for the day.
3. We're checking out houses and I'm so done looking at foreclosures. Every one we've gone to has been vandalized by the previous owners. One even smelled like something died in the upstairs bedroom.
4. I'm sort of rethinking my kindle purchase. I miss having books that I put into my bookshelf.
5. I always wanted bookshelves/library in my home with a rolling ladder to get the books.
6. I hate getting last minute invites to things...even more so when it's family doing the inviting. I got called this morning for us to come to dinner at my husband's aunt's house because her son/daughter-in-law are in town. They must've known weeks ahead family was coming into town...don't call me now and expect me to change my plans (lol, ok vent over).
7. I'm totally regretting buying a video monitor because it has a ton of static but I refuse to acknowledge it to DH because he didn't think we needed a video monitor and I don't want to tell him he was right...lol.
8. I need a new car but don't know the first thing about buying a car.
9. I'm worried about owning a home only because I would then have to decorate it and I feel like I'm not that good at it. Plus, I like clean, streamlined looks, but I know I'll be like my mom and put up a bunch of pics and knicknacks and wonder why my house is so cluttered.
10. I just found this board and I think I'll be wasting a lot of time on it.
1. Tomorrow is my last day of work this week and I can't wait. My co-worker has been out since last Thursday and I have to do most of her work while she is gone. Friday I had to do her job, my job, and one piece of another girls job. I need a break!
2. DH's brother FINALLY called him tonight after DH has been trying to get a hold of him for 3 weeks. We had to text his girlfriend and tell her to have him call us. We need to get moving on his dad's house--getting it fixed up and ready to sell but BIL keeps going back and forth on whether or not he is going to buy out DH's half of the house.
3. BIL is dumb! He is paying $745 a month on his GF's lease to own trailer/lot rent. He could basically have the house for a couple grand and then only pay taxes and insurance---which is TONS less than the rent he is paying. Oh, did I mention BIL isn't working full time so they are barely making their bills? Everyone in the world knows he is passing up an awesome opportunity---but him!
4. Due to #3 I'm waiting for the train wreck--- GF has told me twice now that once she has a real job she will kick BIL's bum to the curb. Hope he has a place to go cause DH won't let him live with us---not that we really have room.
5. I leave for the UP on Thursday with my BFF. It's our 2nd annual girls weekend. We are staying at her MIL's cabin and so far all we have planned is a mystery/history evening tour in St. Ignace. Wonder what other trouble we will find?
6. Tomorrow night I'm going to my cousins for dinner and a get together since my other cousin is in from NC. All of the adults are going to be there--mom, dad, aunts, and uncles. I kinda wish it was just the kids--and their kids. It would be nice to just sit and talk with each other in a more intimate setting instead of all the adults around since we sorta did that on Sunday.
7. I ate fresh pineapple today and now there are 2 spots on the roof of my mouth that are sore. I think the acid in the pineapple juice irritated it.
8. I'm still quite irritated that at the BBQ we had on Sunday my cousins wife didn't bother calling my Aunt to see what she could bring so she brought a fruit bowl thinking no one else would bring it. That happened to be my assigned dish and I have a TON of fruit left over because she insisted on putting hers out since I could share mine with my co-workers on Monday. Then she had the nerve to use the spoon I brought "since you're not putting out your fruit I'll just use your spoon."
9. I shared a very large bowl of fruit with my co-workers on Monday but still have a ton of grapes left so tomorrow my family is going to eat grape salad for dessert so they don't go to waste. That is what I was going to give the co-workers on Monday to use the rest of the grapes.
