A very good friend of mine is currently in the hospital and has been since Friday. He was not feeling well and had sharp pains so he went to the hospital. They did scans and found a cyst the size of a tennis ball on his colon. He had surgery Saturday morning to remove the cyst and they are testing now to see if it's cancerous (the doc said he'll be surprised if the results come back negative) - he should have the results today, they said they'd have them by yesterday. His wife is currently working with doctors and insurance to get him into Moffitt if it does prove to be cancerous however, Moffitt is apparently very hard to get into - who knew! He has a family history of colon cancer, his mother died from it 5 years ago. It's all just so crazy. He's 36, has a beautiful daughter that just turned 1 - we're not supposed to be talking about colon cancer at our age! Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thanks!
Re: T&Ps needed for a friend
If they are not able to get him into Moffitt, we refer to Dr. Marcett @ USF. Also Dr. Sowsan Rasheid

We also refer to Dr. Emina Huang @ UF.

We also tried to get a patient into Moffitt, and the wait was atrocious, so he chose to go to Dr. Rasheid. I believe Marcett & Rasheid work together. Both are colo-rectal.
G/L to your friend and his family.
Thank you, I will pass this along to his wife.
