happy hump day

so tired.

last night i was really looking forward to my 5 mile run.  the MINUTE i got home and said to gerren "do you think the rain will hold off so i can go on a run?" it started POURING.  I mean, not even 60 seconds later.  But it only lasted 10 minutes.  So I got dressed and headed out for a run.  I decided to do a shorter 2.5 mile hill run, because it was still gray out and drizzly.  Within a minute of being on my run, it started pouring again, and poured the entire time I ran.  But it was awesome!  I didn't feel like I needed water and I was running so fast, and really enjoying it!  I made it home again in record time, and my pace was 8:33/mile, my best pace by over a minute!  I was so stoked :)

other than that had a much better evening with gerren, we are back on track and good to go!

i just want to be on vacation though.  i am totally over this week.

Re: happy hump day

  • Wow, you are up early! Usually the first post of the day is well after I leave for work (and can no longer even see the nest now).

I feel like @$$ this AM, so I'm dragging my feet about getting ready for work.

I was exhausted yesterday and so was H, so we napped from 430 til 8. H decided we were getting Chinese food, despite the fact that we've gotten Japanese, Chinese and pizza within the past 4 days AND we're trying to cut back on "eating out". So I happily watched Hell's Kitchen while he went to pick it up. He came back with the Chinese food, 3 boxes of friehofer's choc chip cookies (the chopper had them for buy 1 get 2 free), 2 things of break and bake cookie dough (50% off), 2 boxes of bagel bites (BOGO) and soda. I am supposed to be the impulsive one, not H.

Surprisingly, despite sleeping for 3.5 hours in the afternoon, I passed out at 11PM, after Hell's Kitchen, Masterchef and the local news.

    Somehow I am STILL exhausted.

(An unmatched left parenthesis creates an unresolved tension that will stay with you all day.

  • Ugghh.. It is pouring here again today.. Yesterday Greg called me fat work telling me to be carefull because our neighborhood was flooded. Thankfully it wasn't that bad when I got home. I'm sure it will flood again today if it rains like it did yesterday. As long as our gararge doesn't flood again I'll be happy. We live in an area of Tampa where it floods ALL THE TIME! I now know why people dont have basements in FL. They would flood every flippin time it rained but I do miss my basement.

Last night I caught up on my DVR and watched Teen Mom. I think I might have died when Farrah put her new puppy on the potty..

Tonight is Trivia and 2 more sleeps till we go to the Keys!!! I can't wait! I don't care if we sit out on our porch and do nothing as long as I am in the keys and not at home. I also need to eat some yummy conch fritters while I am there.

  • Another lazy night.  K picked up KFC and we vegged on the couch.  I went to put the baby to bed at 8 and ended up falling asleep with him.  Baby Q slept til 4 this morning!!!  That's right, ladies. 8 whole hours of uninterrupted sleep.  I was in heaven.

Looking like work might start picking up today (Yay!!)  And only 2 more days to wake up before the weekend.

Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker For two people in a marriage to live together day after day is unquestionably the one miracle the Vatican has overlooked. PersonalMilestone
  • Shauni- Glad you and G are back on track!

It's gorgeous here again today.  I really wish my windows at work would open!  Last night went home, changed and took the dog for a walk.  Never doing that again.  I'm so tired of not being able to enjoy a walk b/c the dog is naughty and doesn't listen!  It doesn't help that he's like superdog.  My hands are killing me from hanging onto the leash so tight.  It got to the point where I had the leash wrapped around my hand so that he was right next to me.  Told J that if he wants Timber to go on walks with me, he needs to work on training him, because I've basically done all the training with this dog throughout his years and I'm exhausted.  Till then no dog on my walks!

Other than that, not much new.  Can't wait for the day to be over though!

I get in to work super early lately (between 7-7:30).  I have no life.  Guh.

  • Hollerrific run!

    This week feels long.

Last night I went home, changed, and walked los perros while MFD made dinner. We ate, he put the first part of the couch in the wash, then I did my arm weights and watched Rizzoli & Isles on DVR.

After that I watched a bunch of Pawn Stars and read my book. I wish I was related to Old Man.

I talked to someone I went to high school with that I haven't talked to since I graduated 16 years ago - she found my # on facespace - and she gave me her whole life story (first husband cheated, she took no support from him, her current husband has low sperm count, the works). I texted Laura WTF and she said you are the neighborhood Doctor Phil. hhahhaah. This is not the first time this has happened with someone just unloading on me that I have not spoken to in years and was never close with to start.

I was in bed at 10:15 and read until 11. MFD was out late and interrupted my sleep and now I'm rageful and sleepy. Hate.

Dinner with Alicia tonight! I also need to return to Old Navy and I might pick up some fruit since I'll be out.

  • Miss you QofA!

I am behind on Hell's Kitchen.

  • Xtine - jealous of the Keys trip. I love conch fritters too.

Susie - 8 hours! Oh happy day! That's awesome.

Mary - My dogs are total aholes on walks but they're pugs so at least I can handle them. Still so annoying.

  • I wanna go to dinner with Steph and Alicia!!!  I would totally barge in, if it wasn't far away and a weekday.

I started my computer today determined to get the J. Crew dress I posted in the OMG thread yesterday (no thanks to my fellow Nesties!) but I just wasn't feeling it this morning, so I got a different dress.  It was $30 cheaper, so even better.  I have a lot of black dresses, and I really wanted the blue (even though it was more) but it wasn't in my size, so I think it's ok that I exercised some self-control.  I am hoping to wear it to my mom's wedding; I had a dress and even got it altered, but I've gained a little weight since I bought it and it just doesn't look that good on me.  Stupid clingy fabric, I can't even wear spanx under it because the seam shows!

I have a headache and haven't had any coffee yet this morning.  Off to remedy that.

  • Morning ladies. Slept in some this morning after H got up for work early. If you are on FB with me, you probably saw my complaint about overdoing it with errands and lawn mowing (then making our late dinner) after giving blood yesterday. I got crazy dizzy and pale (H was actually worried there for a minute). Dinner was a little later than normal and I was HUNGRY... Everything was done for the tacos except for grating the cheese. Apparently the arm movement really got to me. I've never had any issues before, so it really suprised me.

Anyway. I feel the pain of dogs that suck on leash. I worked with our 65 pound labmix Jetta multiple times a week on walks a few years ago, but she just never got the hang of it. We tried a regular collar, a choke chain, and even a harness, nothing worked. Now she will stay within leash range off leash, but of course that doesn't count. :) Once I pulled the leash out of the cupboard to take with us for a vet visit and she started making a coughing noise in the car... all the way to the vet. I finally figured out that she makes the same noise with the leash on, but it wasn't even on! What a DORK! Piper does okay, but we just can't take it with Jetta.

  • Morning all!  Going to be a crazy day.  I woke up at 4 to go pee and when I got back in bed, I had morning-mares.  They scared the bee-jee-sus outta me and I'm still a little shaken.  Something about teenage zombies and pug zombies trying to get me and my co-worker.  So effing weird.

My boss and my employee are both out sick, so I'm in super cover everyone else's arse mode.  Funtimes.

Going to kickball tonight to deliver shirts to another team.  Been on the outs w/ my kickball girlies since Vegas.  They did some shady shiz out there and I'm still butt-hurt.  Should be interesting.

Shauni-good on ya for running in the rain AND at a great pace! Mazeltov!

Steph-my pugface is the bestest ever on walks.  She needs no leash.  Not to rub it in or anything.  Take pics at dinner tonight w/ Alicia to rub it in OUR faces :)

Laura-post pics of your new dress!

  • QoA-good to see you!  We've been eating out a lot too.  So yummy, but so expensive!

SusieQ-we had KFC last night too.  It's been years and boy was it tasty!  Congrats on the 8 hours.  Jealous.

Tbears-I stopped giving blood b/c I got so sick afterwards.  You just gotta eat all the treats and relax for a good while before resuming your day.  I always used to take it easy the rest of the day (just like the brochure says) :)

LOL.  took me a second to figure out the typo.  I was like, "oh no he didn't!!!"
    hahahaha

Steph - I'm SO excited.  We need to figure out where and when though.

Laura - live like you're 21 again.  Hop on the train.  I'll split the fare with you if you come.

So I've been omgsobusy.  So busy that we finally took the plunge and hired someone!  yay!  Our business officially has employees.   For right now is temporary - we're treating this like a probationary period to see how it goes.  But still, this is a huge step for us.  I'm pretty proud of us.  Our guy started on Monday and so far our client loves him.   :D

Also, for the last three nights, I've been hand calligraphying my friend's wedding invitations.  I didn't even do my own!  I think they came out pretty nicely though.  I'll post photo in a bit.

    This is where it's at!!

Motley Crue last night :-) It was pretty good! Not as fun as seeing them in Sturgis last year but still good.

Im exhausted and not from the concert. Hope everybody has a great day!

  • it's wednesday, woohoo.  wow, i cant even convince myself of that.

my day was going ok until a few minutes ago...
my boss came up to me and pointed out a miniscule mistake...paper was done as A when it should have been done as a B (zero difference except for name)...the salesman wrote it up and i just processed the credit card...yet somehow this is now my fault.  WTF?  seriuosly?  how is it my fault for processing the credit card on paper A, the paper i was given?  i'm supposed to be psychic now...wish i'd gotten that memo!

enough rant.  i'm meeing my mom for lunch today at least so that'll be a nice break in my day.  plus, she'll pick up the tab so a free lunch is always nice!

don and i have been off lately.  we had a talk about it last night and it seemed to be a good talk.  he's going to make an appointment to have a few tests run to see if that's part of the problem.  if that comes back normal then we're back to square one.  and if that's the case he's agreed that maybe we should go to counciling. communication hasn't been great between since april (when i moved to richmond and he was still newport news) and i thought it'd get better once we moved back in together but it hasn't and the physical part has gotten worse over the past few months too.  he acknowledged that things haven't been like they were so at least that's a good sign and he wants to have things go back to normal...so we'll see!

    JEALOUS.

My "vacation" consisted of 6 days with my in-laws at my house. I'm ok w/ my ILs (MIL, both BILs and niece), but 6 days is too much. And they did get a lot of miscellaneous work accomplished (new retaining wall, new front walk, drywall in the garage, fixed a couple of door frames, etc).

Oh and apparently, the nest is blocked on firefox and IE, but not chrome. I have no idea how IT managed to miss that.

  • Sorry Jen! Our communication is off sometimes too. We've been together almost 9 years and it's a lot of work. When I think of a long life together I think there's bound to be periods where we're just not on the same page and will have to work to get back there. You're not alone! Good for you guys for taking some steps to get back to eye to eye.

Alicia - where and when where and when.

I have a headache. Stupid butthole allergies.

    1) YAY for finishing the exams!  cannot wait until Oct to hear that you passed!

    2) how on gods green earth did i miss that you were going to alaska?!?!  DETAILS!

  • Alicia, you didn't know me when I was 21, but it's true, I'm an old lady now.  I have to work late today, and the thought of taking a train to Philly and back just doesn't appeal to me.  If you gals take the train to Baltimore, though, I'll buy you both dinner. Big Smile

Edit: here's the dress I bought, it's pretty simple but my mom described the wedding attire as 'casual, no shorts'

  • Ah, Hump Day.  I'm with Steph, this week seems long!

Emailed H yesterday at 3:30 that I was starving and needed to figure out dinner...and somehow we still didn't eat until almost 7.  Sigh.  We really need to start meal planning in advance.

I've officially become obsessed with buying things for Predator.  Got the bassinet bedding last night (PBK through eBay) and it's shipping today.  Got some more clothes on eBay and am bidding on some adorable Janie & Jack outfits on there as well.  I told H last night that we need to find a going home outfit for him, and H was just like, yes dear.  What, he should be naked?

I've been giving Ginger lots of extra love this week, because it's really hit me that her little doggie life is really going to change a lot, and I feel badly for her that I'm making her no longer an only child.  She's just so sweet and loveable.

Last night I caught up on my DVR and watched Teen Mom. I think I might have died when Farrah put her new puppy on the potty..

Me too!!! I was thinking "Really? You expect your puppy to potty in the toilet like a human? Please grown some brains!" haha

Nothing new here. Did manage to go to the gym last night and thought I was going to die the first 5 minutes of the elliptical but then it got better. Woke up at 5am this morning...it's going to be a long day.

Hopefully hitting the gym again tonight after I get done at the outpatient clinic.

Tbears - I always, always faint after giving blood and sometimes even when I just watch a friend give blood. Hope you're better now!

  • Susie - 8 hours is awesome!  Yay for good sleepers.  H's mom still keeps insisting that "he never slept," and when I point out that the baby book she showed me says he slept like 14 hours a night, she's like, well that was later.  Whatever lady, that's not what you wrote at the time.

Steph - I'm totally Dr. Phil, too.  My mom's a therapist, so growing up kids would always treat me like a therapist too, which is kind of weird.  And have fun at dinner!  I'm jealous you guys are in close proximity.  Need to arrange a NorCal GTG.

Laura - pretty dress!  When is your mom's wedding again?  Did you decide on going to Seattle or not?

Angie - congrats on finishing!  It's such an accomplishment.  My advice for the night you find out would be to plan a celebration with your H either way.

  • Wow, it's good to see a ton of activity here.

Last night was night two of orientation.  We just sat there and listened to one of the professors talk about what it's like to be a law school student, blah, blah, blah.  We heard this all before during the summer class.  Got home at around 10:30 pm, ate dinner and went to bed.

I'm excited because tonight we will be getting our iPads.  Sweet!
