How are you doing on your resolution? Or even if you don't have a goal per say, is there something you are proud of that you last week or something you know you want to or need to change.
Re: Resolution Check in
My goal was to go on a budget diet for the next several months to get our checking and savings back up.
Good
Adjusted our budget to allow for more savings
came up with a list of cost savings ideas and presented it to TH - we are on the same page.
Grocery shopped to last more than a week. I'm trying to get it so we only go 3 times a month instead of four.
Possibly scored free tickets to the zoo when we go on vacation, which is a $40 savings (I haven't seen them yet, so I will believe when I see it)
Made up a menu for when we go on vacation. We are going to try to do more meals at the condo than orginally planmed
Bad
Forgot a few items when grocery shopped. Brian picked them up, along with a few extra items which always seem to to add up at the end of the month.
Not bad but added extra expenses - boghtgroceries for my mo to make meals during recovery.
I had possibly the worst first week of a resolution ever. I didn't count a single calorie and I only worked out twice. (One strength training class and one run.)
I have lost 0 of the 20 pounds I would need to lose.
I will most definitely have a better update next week. I hope. Eesh.
My goal is to just be more active.
I went kayaking, took a few bike rides (which my knees are not thanking me for
) and walked around a petting zoo.
During our bike ride yesterday, I made it all the way up a hill that I had to walk up last time.
Also, I have decided that I do not enjoy pulling T and his trailer. He is heavy.
That's great progress!
Mike always pulls Henry when we go out together. That is a lot of hard work. He tells me when he rides to work, even on hills, it feels like nothing since Henry isn't weighing him down.
I've been on the elliptical 4 days straight, and have more mindful of what I'm eating. I missed 3 previous days because of gall bladder ick. I said I would be starting off with you guys slow, and I am.
Wendy, I hope you didn't pick something up in Africa, and that your progress is just your hard work.
Hoek, better luck next week, eh?
D & M Yay you! Sorry the knees aren't happy. Is your bike adjusted to your height, or do you just have grouchy knees?
Gvsu, good job on the spending cuts!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way.
I hope pulling him is helping me burn some extra calories/build some extra muscles.
GRSP - the seat is adjusted, so I'm thinking my knees are just grouchy. In their defense, it's been years and years since I've gone bike riding.
Tomorrow is my weigh in day, but I have been pretty good about exercising over the last week. Notable accomplishments include a full hour of yoga practice for the first time in a very long while yesterday and jogging 5 miles on Monday (my longest run since Riverbank in May).
I have also been eating better. I haven't specifically been eating less or trying to eat ultra healthy, but I have been cooking at home (and most of the food in the house is pretty healthy). It's funny how much energy I have for other things now that I'm not working. My last grocery trip was before I quit on July 29 and I've been able to come up with interesting, complete meals from what's in the fridge, freezer and pantry. That never would have happened before. It's good for the wallet and the waistline.
Great job to everyone's accomplishments!
