Lori (Edit: totally LoCo)

Just wondering how you were feeling since the accident!  And what happened to your car, did it end up totaled?

Re: Lori (Edit: totally LoCo)

  • Thanks for checking on me! I am doing okay physically, my back has been a little sore but nothing a little Tylenol can't help. Mentally I'm kind of a mess. I've been having anxiety over everything and haven't been sleeping well. It doesn't help that I am swamped at work (why I've barely been on here) and trying to wrap up a ton of stuff before my vacation. We head down to Cape May for a week on Saturday morning. I have an acupuncture appointment tonight and that usually helps relieve my anxiety.

Got the word yesterday that my car is in fact totaled. The good news is that my insurance company is reimbursing me a few thousand more than I thought they would. The bad news is that I expect my insurance rates to skyrocket for the next few years. I guess it balances out.

We're going to look into getting me a new car when we get back from Cape May. Meanwhile I'm driving Dave's car to work. I was a little scared to drive this morning but I pushed through it - just went a lot slower than I usually would.

  • Sorry to hear you are so stressed out, but who can blame you?  Just remember to take care of YOURSELF first so that you can tackle everything.  I hope you get some sleep and relieve your anxiety on vacation!

As for the car, if it helps at all, when my car was totaled due to no fault of my own (like your situation) my insurance rates didn't change one bit.   I hope that's true for you.  And if your car is so badly damaged, you would rather have a new, reliable car then a repaired one (that will probably give you trouble, it will never be the same).  I hope that helps you to feel better :)

Keep us posted on everything! XO

  • Glad to hear you are doing as well as can be expected.  Hopefully the vacation helps ease some of the anxiety.  Any news on how the "little ones" are doing?

  • I was thinking the same thing...your vacation couldn't be coming at a better time! Rest, relax and just let it all go at the beach. Keeping you in my T&P's :-)
