At what age did you stop giving a snack/milk before bed? We have noticed Kellen has woken up and when he sees his sippie of milk, begins shaking, so I am worried about low blood sugars. We have an appt on Friday, and I am going to discuss with Ped, just wondering if we need to be giving him something before bed (we don't, and don't make different meals if he is refusing supper- we just keep trying to have him come back to eat). Thoughts?

Re: Snack before bed
We still do bedtime snacks for both girls. Especially if they were light on dinner. I try to make it something very protein or fiber packed so that blood sugars don't plummet overnight.
ETA: Obviously they brush their teeth *after* that snack.
We don't do snacks either and really never have unless they didn't eat at all and then it's usually string cheese. My girls go to bed at 7 so after dinner, it's bath, a tv show and then bed. There really isn't much time to eat again. They both sleep until 6 am and I have noticed any odd behavior the mornings after they didn't eat much. They usually eat a big breakfast those mornings, though.
My concern would be that they would stop eating dinner if they knew there was a snack routine before bed.
