Need Ideas: Hotel Bachelorette Party Apps/Snacks

I'm helping host a bachelorette party and we are meeting at a hotel in the city to start the night.  We will do dinner, drinks and presents in the room and then go out to bars, then back to the room to spend the night.  We will be catering in italian food of some sort for dinner.  What I plan to do is bring a few appetizers to snack on before dinner is ready and then have something to munch on after we get back if anyone is hungry.  Our room has a full wet bar and mini fridge.  I'm also still working on a transportable dessert, need to find out what the brides favorite dessert is though (know she hates cake).

Any good ideas for easy transportable apps/snacks?  Most girls will be drinking beer and few do vodka mixers.  No one there will be drinking wine.

Re: Need Ideas: Hotel Bachelorette Party Apps/Snacks

  • Are you spending the night in the hotel room?

I was just at a weekend long bachelorette party last month where we all stayed in a hotel after nights of dancing. The hostess was amazing and had all the typical snacks- chips and salsa and guac and jarred nacho cheese sauce (a guilty pleasure for the bride), veggies and dip, easy fruits like grapes and cherries, pita chips and hummus, that sort of thing, in addition to deli sandwiches in small portions. It was easy to snack without plates and everything was super easy to transport because nothing was so temperature dependent (not like egg salad or something) and throw on the various tables and mini fridges.

She was also brilliant by packing breakfast foods-  individual yogurts, hard boiled eggs, applesauce, bread, mini muffins, for the morning recovery :)

I honestly can't remember if we had any desserts, but sometimes things like m&m's and mini chocolates can be tasty if you just want a bite of something sweet

  • For apps I'd probably just do an antipasto platter and cheese straws.  You shouldn't need to refrigerate that since you'll be eating it first.  For dessert I might just do a platter of cookies and or dessert bars.  Mini cheesecakes might be good, but there is a refrigeration issue....

For after, chips/pretzels and dip.  You could do spinach dip with rye bread too.  If the room has a microwave you might throw in some popcorn and shake on toppings.

We are spending the night.  I don't know how many girls will actually stay but for sure the whole bridal party (6) and possibly up to 12.  We do have a fridge in the room, but a mini one.  There is no actual kitchen though and we can get a microwave on request.  I'm a but of an over-achiever when it comes to hosting so I want our guests to be "wowed"!  lol  Our room is pretty fancy- 1200sq ft with a full bar and dining room table so it should be easy to make it look amazing.  I do want finger desserts but plan to make somewhat of a display of that.  m&m's and candies will look nice in martini glasses as a display, even if no one eats them.  The mini deli sandwiches will be a must for when we get back!   All your ideas are great- thanks!

  • I would have some chocolate covered strawberries and maybe some different kinds of truffles.
    Please pass the ice cream.
  • I would just do a small display of desserts (i.e. brownies, cookies, etc) that people can snack on through out the night instead of an actual dessert.
